  1. Hey! Thank you so much for such a detailed response. Really helps (: I actually did (am doing? I graduate in May haha) my undergrad at Rutgers and I had a totally different research experience- I transferred in, got into a research lab (the only I/O one) the next semester, and then became the manager/main coordinator of that lab after that. But I have heard that people do find that to be an issue at Rutgers so I totally get what you mean. I was actually encouraged to apply straight to PhD programs but I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that (heard some very negative experiences where students had a falling out with their advisor and were essentially screwed) and I wanted to have an employable degree a bit sooner, just in case I wanted to go the applied route. That said, a part of me still wonders what if I had applied to PhD programs... Montclair's biggest draw is the financials. Tuition is so low as it is and if its completely covered- wow. I might have to give the school another look. Thanks again!!
  2. Hi Everyone! I've mostly been a lurker but I'm really confused about what next step to take so I figured I would ask all of you here since all of you have gone through this/are going through this/have your shi* together unlike me lol I'm graduating (BA) in May and applied for a MA/MS in I/O for this fall. Thus far, I've been accepted to New Haven, West Chester, Montclair, GM, and Albany. I hadn't heard from Akron and when I called to ask, I mentioned that I had other offers and needed to know soon. The next morning I got a rejection letter from the immigration department for some reason. I'm still waiting to hear from Baruch & Columbia. I'd like to go to a program which is balanced in terms of both the I & O side of this field. I'm not sure if I want to go straight for my PhD right after or do applied work and I would like my MA/MS program to have options for research as well as internships. So far, I'm leaning towards Albany since they seem to have both research options and I've heard they have good internship placement as well but I'm not thrilled about the idea of moving to Albany. I've already decided against New Haven, GM, and am not keen on West Chester. Montclair is still on the list because it is so incredibly affordable (in-state tuition) but I'm not sure if the program would mean a lot on my resume/have research opportunities for my eventual PhD app. So I guess I'm trying to decide between Albany and Montclair/waiting for Columbia & Baruch to get back to me. I'm just really overwhelmed by this whole process and am scared that the school I choose will be wrong for me. Does anyone have any advice about these programs or any opinions about any of this? I know this is all super scattered but thats kinda how I feel about all of this right now lol
  3. February, if I remember correctly. Yes, I called last Thurs and this Monday but haven't been able to reach anyone/no one is calling me back
  4. I haven't heard from Baruch either! Anyone heard back from Teacher's College, Columbia for MA?
