  1. My first impressions: I'm no expert, but first impression of SAS I had was that SAS is like a strange hybrid of SQL and Python. Neither SQL nor Python take long to learn.
  2. Yep, I've seen that article. Still trying to get in touch with the department chair, but the secretary says it should happen soon. Very excited. Starting this program in 1 month.
  3. More information would be nice, such as what was your major, what classes you took, your grades in them, etc.
  4. Yeah, I'm going to try Manhattan for the GRE. The math GRE, as far as I know in stats, is only required at Stanford. I'm going to try to go for Minnesota, but it's extremely competitive there. I would love to do research in either stochastic processes, regression, or nonparametric statistics. At the moment my desire to pursue a Ph.D. isn't a problem; it's just a matter of getting in. I'm in the process of trying to get ISU to let me do a thesis-based M.S.. Hopefully this works out.
  5. While I'm at it, life happened and I have considered applying to Ph.D. programs in the next few months. How does my profile look? I want to at least get my GRE score up.
  6. Yes, I was accepted on May 7. I completely agree with you. ISU is probably the only online M.S. stats program worth paying for.
  7. Accepted to Iowa State's M.S. Statistics online program! Funding didn't matter in my case since I'm working full-time.
  8. This is probably a long shot, but might as well try: has anyone heard from Iowa State's online (distance education) M.S. program yet?
  9. Dang, I haven't heard from Iowa State (M.S. Statistics, online) yet. :/ Getting nervous about this. I'm starting to think I won't get accepted.
  10. Karoku_valentine, I noticed you were rejected from IA State. Did you post your application profile on here?
  11. Does anyone know when IA State has released results in the past (Ph.D. or M.S. candidates)?
  12. Still waiting to hear from IA State. I'm not sure when I should expect to hear back.
  13. Waiting on my application now. Feeling nervous about this. :/
  14. Took the GRE again. 161Q, 154V are my projected scores. I hope that's good enough. :/
