Just so you are aware, the guy who runs MLIC, the test prep company Roger Van Dijk mentions, regularly posts salutary accounts of course attendees on GRE forums (google them and you will see) as advertisement. I know people who have taken the course, and they were not impressed. Not saying this is one, but you should be aware of this. Also, I echo what others have said: getting rid of careless errors on the math section will significantly raise your score. The math is easy. It is not having done it in a long time combined with racing the clock that oftern leads to lower scores- at least for some of us.

When I checked in with Arizona about my LORs I was told the admissions committee was meeting in early March, with decisions following soon thereafter. Not much help, but might help the nerves a little.

Congrats about UW! Westox: I did apply the Ph.D program. I am pretty sure they don't have rolling admissions, my application got there about a week before the 15th. I had pretty extensive communication with my POIs, so I assume they were looking for my application. That might explain the fast turnaround.

I found out about Ohio State through the website by checking my status. Is that the OSU you mean? Or is it Oregon State (or one of many others that probably have that acronym)? The website says a letter is in the mail, but I live in the Mid-Atlantic and have been buried by snow for over a week. I haven't received mail since last Thursday, and considering my road still has not been plowed from the first storm, I don't expect to see mail anytime soon. Its driving me crazy. I really want to call to find out what the letter says, but I am trying not to be obnoxious.

I am interested in political ecology, nature society-theory, the American West, conservation, and the role race and idigeneity play in evironmental conflict in the American West. Most of my research has so far has dealt with Native American land rights claims and livelihoods issues and how these are impacted by potential hard rock mining sites. Also interested in the political dynamics of forest access and the political economy of forest loss and recovery. keylimekai: have you heard that your application is complete yet from Penn State?
