  1. Officially turned down LSU, and will be attending Oklahoma! Congrats everyone!
  2. So I am on the alternate list for funding at LSU, but have an offer from Oklahoma. Makes the decision a bit easier I believe.
  3. Nice email from LSU notifying me of an acceptance. Now if only Oklahoma and LSU could work on their funding offers..
  4. The weight has been lifted off my shoulders...finally an acceptance at the University of Oklahoma.
  5. I know from a friend who was interviewed by the Carl Albert Center fellowship that the Oklahoma department met yesterday. If I had to guess, decisions should be expected either this week or next.
  6. It appears there was a Stony Brook decision, and I still have heard nothing *crickets* In an update to this: Checked their portal, and was rejected. Expected, but couldn't send out an email? Stay classy Stony Brook.
  7. I am in the same boat with Stony Brook. I am hoping it is a sort of unofficial waitlist of sorts. But then again, I have no idea.
  8. This is going to be totally random, and completely late, but did your status change on the Stony Brook website? Just curious as mine still says submitted.
  9. Thank you so much for the info and I am sorry that you were rejected. It kind of makes me angry that they have decisions, but they are not sending them out. Is it that hard to really send out an email?
  10. You know? I feel the same way with schools. It appears that WashU did the same thing, and even though I was rejected, it was much better. Some people heard from Stony Brook almost two weeks ago now, and I am still just waiting here. I would much rather have the decision and know so I do not have to keep on checking my email.
  11. Does anyone have any updates on Stony Brook? For some reason, I feel that a second wave is coming next week, but I am really not sure.
  12. Thank you very much for that. And congrats on getting into UNC, and even more congrats considering it might be your number one. I am waiting on Oklahoma, my number one, and I think there is a very good shot I can get in there, but decisions aren't expected till March 1. Just need to wait it out a little longer.
  13. Well I can officially say I heard back from a school, and was rejected by WashU. Oh well! I knew it was a long shot to begin with, but I can say it is relieving to hear from a school, even though it was a generic rejection.
  14. Congrats! I also am waiting, but at least a decision is coming soon (would rather hear if it is a rejection rather than waiting)
  15. Anyone want to claim the WashU admittance?
  16. I try not to troll, but was completely confused by the in limbo, and the signature lol. My bad! And I agree with the point that you are making. I would much rather have a known status (even if it was a waitlist) than just sitting here waiting. It is a little ridiculous that some people know while others don't. We are just asking for a status update.
  17. Have you officially heard anything from Stony Brook or just assuming?
  18. Thank you for that! I am terrified to email them to seem like I am bothering them! But thanks for the heads up! Congrats!!!!
  19. This is going to be a late question but, to all the people who have heard back from Stony Brook, did you email them or did they email you? I have nothing on that front.
  20. The anxiety killed me last week. It literally made my week awful. If there was anyway I could suggest avoiding letting the anxiety consume you, I would recommend it. Also still haven't heard from any of my 4 schools that I applied to. But Oklahoma just closed their application yesterday, and LSU is still open till the 15th. But nothing from Stony Brook or WUSTL
  21. One of my friends that applied at Rice just heard from them yesterday. He got waitlisted.
  22. I am holding out hope that we hear something from WashU tomorrow.
  23. Hi BFB. I would first like to thank you for answering all of these questions, and really giving knowledgeable insight into the process. It really is nice to hear how the process works. My question though, is more of a concern for me that you have covered before, but of course, I am still worried. My GRE Quant score is low (151), and my verbal is higher (159) with a decent analytical (4.5). I just really fear that my Quant is holding me back, even though I have other good qualifications (4.0 GPA, 2 publications, 3 conference papers, etc.). My concern is that my Quant score is dragging me down, and I was just curious to see how much weight that holds during the process. Thank you so much again for doing this!
