  1. Hey hi, I plan to the ame schools as you ddi for mPhD in BME for fall 2011. I would be really grateful fi you could hsare your profile with em and gudie me. :)

  2. I just checked my rating sheets. VG/VG VG/E VG/VG I received an award. Last year I actually had better ratings and received an HM 2009 E/VG E/E E/VG I definitely thought my application improved, so maybe I just had more difficult reviewers. I heard they don't use the raw rating, but compare each of the ratings to the reviewers average rating.
  3. Congrats to those who received an offer or HM. I feel very fortunate to be offered one. There is a lot of randomness and luck to the whole process. I'm volunteer teaching this year (probably helped with my broader impacts, but definitely not why I did it). Unfortunately this will not help me with lesson planning or unruly students. Time to get some work done.
  4. Awards offered - 2000 Honorable Mention - 2025
  5. I GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just pulled out a Odell's IPA.
  6. This is like waiting for Santa. You just went to bed and know he isn't coming for hours, but you still think about it every five seconds. The worst part is that thinking about Santa keeps you from falling asleep and makes it take longer to get the gifts. The main difference is 90% of us will get coal.
  7. Be thankful that you didn't watch the end of the NCAA hoops final. Butler was SO CLOSE to beating Duke. Yet another bad omen. With Duke winning the championship, I'm not expecting to hear about the GRFP till Friday.
  8. I just really doubt that they'll post tonight. I really wish they would, but I really doubt it. I wish I would just believe that and do something productive. I have SO much grading to do... For all of you NSF'ed up compulsive email checkers, take a chance to look at this (stolen from Unlikelygrad's blog). It is awesome. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z167/Great_WhiteSnark/Nerd_Dork_Geek_Venn_Diagram.jpg
  9. I had my first NSF dream last night. Everyone was at a big theme park and they announced the awards over the PA system. I heard my name and went up to the top of this tower thing to get my letter, and they said I didn't get an award. Then I ran into strange people from my past. I'm no dream reader, but I think this means they will post on Tuesday night.
  10. I also had the pleasure of enjoying the waiting game last year. I decided to sit a year out and matriculate next year. I'm hoping to hear as soon as possible. It really plays no role in my grad school decision, but maybe once I hear I'll be able to pick a grad school. Some certainty about next year would be nice.
  11. I am also anxiously waiting around and checking my email every two minutes. It is definitely decreasing my productivity. I was supprized to hear something from UCSD and Northwestern so early. I'm concerned that JHU already sent out interviews (one was posted in the results section). Good luck waiting it out heelandcoo88.
  12. It might not be too late. If there is someone you are really interested in working with contact them with some questions.
  13. They sent out invites last Friday. The interview date is Feb. 19th. If they have another interview date, they will probably have more invites go out later, but i doubt they will send out more invites for the Feb. 19th interview (not that my opinion means anything, but that wouldn't give much time for them to organize the logistics). I think UCSD really depends on the professors to give names of students to interview. Have you been in contact with any professors?
