  1. For those that have been admitted to UT-Austin, has anyone received word on the amount of funding? Thanks.
  2. I will be attending grad school in the fall and will have been married for just over a year. Kids will most certainly have to wait though for us. It will certainly be a transition for us as my work hours will extend much beyond my wife's.
  3. Just received an email from UT-Austin. They did not mention the funding amount, but said "You are being considered for competitive departmental and university fellowships that will be announced and awarded in the upcoming months". I wonder if all emails say this and don't mention the amount.
  4. I received an email from my POI at UTexas-Austin (analytical division) saying that the admissions committee deliberations were "wrapping up" and that he was impressed with my application and confident I would receive good news from them. Definitely good to hear, but I am uneasy until things are official as this professor was not on the committee himself. I am hoping they will send out offers on Monday before the holidays. I know we are all waiting for good news before January!
  5. First off, congrats that is great to hear! What division did you apply for at Texas? I know they handle admissions separately there so I'm curious as to which groups are making decisions now.
  6. Congrats! That is great to hear back as soon as you did. It definitely makes me a bit regretful for not getting mine in earlier. I am polishing my SOP for Illinois right now.
  7. I missed the opportunity to sign up for the subject GRE test. I am a bit anxious as several of the programs I am applying to say, Not required, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I am a domestic student so I know I am not at as big of a disadvantage as I could be. Any ideas on how this can influence admission decisions? Can a high GPA at a respectable university overcome this? Thanks for any feedback.
