Question fellow Ecology people !!
Can someone explain how TAships work with tuition??? You get paid ~12k a year but then do you also pay tuition for the courses? or does this ~12k get directly applied to your course fees?
I'm so confused!!! It might be a totally dumb queston but I had to ask.
I've been accepted to my top choice and want to respond to their admissions offer, do i need to be formal? or can I just say YES ONE MILLION PERCENT YES!
Thoughts??
It was from a PI whose lab makes their own decisions about students, no university input whatsoever.
I only applied to work with him and nobody else. We've met and have developed a relationship over the past year so in my email I'd like to write something at the end about how I look forward to collaborating in the future or something like "let's stay in touch" but more professional sounding.
Hello All!
How does one respond to a PI who lets you know they have decided to go with another applicant? I want to keep a relationship with them but am unsure how to end the email.
Any thoughts???
Thanks!!
Decaf,
I'm thinking of emailing and doing the same thing to a few places.
What did you say in yours? Or do you mind sharing an abridged version?
THanks!!
I am editing my personal history statement and I generalize my research interests. do i need to explicitly state them in detail again in this essay? or can i save that for just my SOP?
Hello All!
I have already spoken with two professors at the same university, same program and really like both of them for potential MS advisors.
Should I put them both in my SOP as listed faculty I want to work with or chose 1? I don't want to deter my chances of getting in by putting both of them and having them feel like I'm playing the fences making neither want me!
What should i do????
