  1. I would like to know the best opportunities to study about China (economy, business mainly, and IR) on a graduate level. I come from a business management and chinese language undergrad background. 1) Which programs are best in US? Elsewhere? I know of SAIS, SIPA, SOAS, LSE-PKU, UCSD Asia Pacific focus, NYU EAS, UCLA.. Main point is that curriculum or other has some type of business/economy aspect, as I want to pursue private sector after mainly. 2) For NYU East Asia and Columbia MARSEA, Im assuming GRE verbal is weighted most. What kind of score one must anticipate for admission, AT LEAST? Just approximations are ok 3) As f.e. Columbia MARSEA or other EAS programs are usually not as professional oriented and heavyweight as SAIS or SIPA, what kind of jobs do graduates anticipate? In such economy?? Or just a stepping stone to PhD? Thanks

  3. which are the best/most rep China focused programs in the US for grad school? prob is east asian studies doesnt have too much econ and business in it..which I am aiming for. thanks
  4. I can speak fairly good chinese, as I have a BA in east asian studies - chinese. I am at Renmin University now after graduation for a year on scholarship, hope that helps as well. I love NY and would love the MARSEA program. my last GREs were quite low. I guess though, for Columbia one needs exceptional scores..like 90 percentile ballpark, no? there are LSE-PKU students here in BJ i met, the program seems very theoretical..
  5. MSc degrees choice, help? If you had to choose between these degrees, which would you choose and why? LSE MSc Management - 2 years in London, 65k LS-PKU Msc International Affairs - 1 year Beijing, 1 year London, 38k Columbia - Masters in Regional Studies East Asian Studies (MARSEA)- 1 year, around 40k - Weatherhead Institute for working later in business consulting/US government focusing on China economic related events. Later MBA or PhD possible. Main goal is to be a western person with business acumen and understanding of different market/business environments than the US/EU capitalism. Bridging the cultural gap.. Thanks a lot for all thoughts
  6. ok, this may not be the most relevant, as I am asking a question, but its somewhat east asia related> MSC/MA degrees If you had to choose between these degrees, which would you choose and why? LSE MSc Management - 2 years in London, 65k LS-PKU Msc International Affairs - 1 year Beijing, 1 year London, 38k Columbia - Masters in Regional Studies East Asian Studies - 1 year, around 40k for working later in business consulting/US government focusing on China economic related events Thanks
