  1. thanks for the info. I know early to mid feb is big (at least in past years) just trying to gauge and also figure out my visits
  2. hey guys, did anyone apply to the MIT/WHOI joint program in oceanography, and if so has anyone heard back yet?
  3. fancyfeast, i haven't got that feel from berkley. I got a call from a PI i had listed on my SOP (who pretty clearly had just given my app materials the most perfunctory of glances), and then a formal acceptance email but other than that no contact, although im sure any number of factors might affect that.
  4. ok, i just wanted to make sure. I'm assuming that it wil come in a later follow up email, thanks.
  5. Svann, did your letter discuss funding at all or was it just an acceptance?
  6. 1. the March 27-29 weekend. 2. Pros: - very strong program -heard great things about the city, and location in general (i know many people will say that the location doesnt matter because you'll be living in the lab, but i can't really bring myself to live somewhere i hate none the less) -some very interesting work going on in my field there (physical/analytical chem) Cons: -i must agree with ghostar that everything seems huge (particularly coming from an undergrad with about 3000 students [9 chem majors in my year]) but i am sure i will get a better feel for this when i visit
  7. Sort of a random question, but are the times on here GMT?
  8. cool, congrats on your acceptances and good luck. what PIs do analytical stuff at scripps?
  9. where have people who are looking to do analytical heard from, personal i've heard from U Dub and PSU
  10. has anyone heard back from Penn State yet, i know that historically they've notified people a little later but im starting to hear rumblings
  11. hey guy, this question falls into the "should i be worried", "what are my chances" type category i got a 3.0 (15%) on the analytical writing for the GRE my verbal and quantitative where both in the 90s percentile wise i have a strong GPA (3.86 from small liberal arts college) good research expereince, and should be getting good LORs, should i worry about my low AW score?
