for those who went to the first UCSF BMS interview, anyone recieve acceptance? how many days after the interview did u get notified?

thanks for your opinions. this idea was suggested to me by a faculty member i spoke with, but now i don't think i will bring them with me.

what do you all think of bringing some of your data from your research (like figures, graphs, etc) to your interview to use while youre talking about your research with the faculty?

You make a good point! That's true. Im more worried about missing so much school rather than missing work (i hate my job lol). But i only have 2 interviews (3 when you count my last choice school). I wanted to keep my options open and Im also worried about the possibility of getting rejected from a school I interview with!!! I mean, everyone says that if you get an interview, you're likely to be accepted unless you completely screw up your interview but I'm still nervous!

So i got an interview offer today (to my last-choice school) - would it look bad if i didn't get back to them until after the break? the two weekend options that i can choose from are 1) two days after one of my other interviews, i will be so tired - and 2) same weekend as stanford stanford sends out invites the week of january 5 according to their website - so if i don't get stanford, id rather go to the second interview weekend - so would it be ok if i didn't answer the interview email until i find out about stanford?

jan 22-24 and feb 5-7 .... february visit is encouraged for those interested in immunology or Microbial Pathogenesis and Virology.

But wouldn't a phd from an ivy help you get the post doc that you want?

Question - would you rather spend a year or two to do a post bacc at an Ivy League or go straight for your phd at a good school that's not Ivy League. How much does it really matter where your phd is from if you want to stay in academia?

I called Harvard BBS and they said all interview invites have been sent out.

Err-alpha - I checked last years results page and everyone who posted saying they got an interview from Harvard BBS was only on Saturday (not Friday & Saturday) -- Which makes me think that this year they may have all been sent out on Friday. I still have some hope they may send out more on Monday, but if not, I may take it as a rejection.

do you know if the grad housing are dorm rooms? or apartment style?

Just the fact that its located in a small town. But the only plus side to that is I bet rent will be cheap. Would you rather go to Duke over, for example, UCSF?

i heard that in previous years on the last day, everyone has dinner on top of the prudential center. it is the prettiest, most breathtaking view ever. i love boston!

no i didn't ... i just wanted to accept my other interviews but i wanted to make sure they don't conflict with harvard before i accept them. I'm going crazy waiting though. I seriously doubt they will send out any today, its after 5 in boston. They may have sent all the invites yesterday, or they will continue on monday. Im sad lol.

when are harvard bbs interviews? the website says jan 29 - feb 1 and feb 12 - feb 15. Is that correct? I wanna make sure it doesn't conflict with my other interviews before i accept

Hey everyone, so I see that a lot of people got interviews for Harvard BBS today. I didn't receive any email today but I really have my heart set on that program. Should I take it as a rejection or do you think they will likely send out more invites next week? Also, can the people who got interviews to BBS share at what time they received the email? I got an invite from UCSF BMS a few days ago and the email was sent at 6:45 pm California time ... So I dont know if there's any chance Harvard is still sending out invites today...
