  1. Hmm it seems like my friend mixed up "1 bedroom, double occupancy" and "2-bedroom efficiency". Does anyone know how 2-bedroom efficiency's like? Is it just a usual 2-bedroom apartment minus the living room? Is privacy affected at all?
  2. Take your interest into account if you know at least roughly what you are interested too. For example, number theory at UCI should be very decent, and if that's what you want/may want to do, this could be a factor.
  3. Wow! So many maybe-algebraic geometers here What preparation have you done for this?
  4. Also rejected here, lol. Where will you go? Stanford or Caltech?
  5. @dasgut: A slightly off-topic question: how did you manage your coursework given your subject test result? Forgive me if you find this question a bit offensive. While I disagree that GRE subject test is a good indicator of one's ability, it does show a bit of test takers' foundation.
  6. Although you have not posted about course details, note that it's quite likely for your Phd level courses to be offered to undergrads in the institutions u've applied to. If that is the case, I don't think you really stand a chance unless you have other things that are truly exceptional.
  7. I doubt this - a subject test that tests you mostly on calculus, how is it going to differentiate people at all? No matter which direction (pure, applied etc) you are heading into, the subject test is not a good indicator in any sense IMHO.
