... I had the same thing happen last year. Have faith! I ended up getting NSF this year. It's super annoying to have to do the application song and dance again, but just think of it as practice for the rest of your academic life!

Edit: Looks like it may be an honorable mention/alternate notice, based on their most recent Facebook and Twitter posts.
I got that last year-- you're an Alternate Selectee, so if anyone declines you get a shot at their place, congrats! This means you might not have final news until late May, though.
One of my labmates and I have both not received any emails and our https://ndseg.asee.org/award page is still saying there is no new info about our awards. ~mystery~. I'm fine not getting this, I just want to know so I can stop thinking about funding for this year!

If you could find that for posterity, that would be really helpful for very small overlap of people who win both. I've only seen this bit from the end of the NDSEG FAQ:
Are current NSF fellows ineligible to apply for the NDSEG fellowship?
Current NSF fellows are eligible to apply for the NDSEG Fellowship. However, if awarded the fellowship, you will not be eligible to accept funding from both sources at the time that the NDSEG tenure begins on September 1, 2017.

@Humulus_lupulus most fellowships give you until May 1 or thereabouts to commit-- so it's not really a problem so long as the ones you'd seriously consider release decisions in April. I have NSF, for instance, but I'm waiting to commit until NDSEG is released in case I get both (questionable, depending on whether NDSEG accepted a late rec) and NDSEG has some awesome package (they used to have a higher stipend, but that might not be the case anymore).
This is also why NPSC (there's only like, 1 serious thread on it in the bank), on the other hand, is sort of a mystery to folks. In the past they've released some acceptances as late as mid-May. At that point, yes, some folks have probably already committed to other fellowships. I was an alternate selectee for NDSEG last year, and didn't finally hear back that I didn't get it until May 10. If I'd had NSF last year, that would have been too late (though you can theoretically do both and defer NSF).
ANYWAYS. Lots of words to say that they have time, and the main reason earlier would be more helpful is that grad students already have enough on their brains. haha

I just gave NDSEG a call to see if there was a status update but got voicemail. The news will come when it comes, I suppose. (shrug)

Yeah, @kstopka3 I took that as meaning they haven't received the list yet as of Wednesday. Seems like that would have to be a really quick turnaround if they got it yesterday and were going to post it today!
Probably good for your sanity @Humulus_lupulus to plan for it to be next week. If they post today, will be a pleasant surprise rather than a disappointment if they don't.

Looks like UT Austin just unleashed a bloodbath in rejections. Anyone else still twiddling their thumbs with an application in review?

Only mention it if you have some great "personal history" story you can mention it as part of. E.g. "That fall, as I went from healthy college student to cancer patient in the course of three months, I discovered a deep appreciation and interest in the treatments flowing through my veins (though my transcript from Fall '13 may indicate otherwise)"-- also, I totally made that up, so no, I did not have cancer, and if you did-- please don't take offense, you're stronger than I.
Otherwise, why make something an issue that might not be an issue? If the average is 3.67, I would imagine you're within a std dev-- and at that point the quality of your undergrad education and research will matter more in proving yourself that GPA.
Chill out. The admissions committees are smart people.

Hey guys, at least one more applicant showing up-- got into Michigan so far with a call on 12/26. Pumped since it's a really solid research fit.
Also hesitant to post stats (pretty unique background), but cool to meet you guys! Sounds like our lists have a good amount of overlap.
