Is anyone planning on turning down their offer at PITT? It's my top choice and I'm anxiously hoping I make it off the wait-list. Subfield is world politics.

Has anyone been wait listed and/or rejected at Pitt? I received an email stating they were "interested in my app...and that they may be able to allow additional students in within the next two months...in that case we will contact you before mid-April"? The email looked very generic, and I'm not sure if this means I was wait listed or if this was sent in mass. Anyone get anything similar?

Hahah in the same boat, although I'm awaiting on 8 schools. I received an email notification today......but sadly it was Expedia asking me to complete a survey! Oh the wait continues.........

Thanks -- good to know. I never got an interview there, and only saw two interviews posted, which seems odd as historically they have interviewed a lot of people. Naturally i'm thinking the worst!

Has anyone else unsubscribed to all of their various email newsletters and what not? Every time I get an email and it's not from a school I'm applying to I'm like Now at least I get excited/let down less frequently ahaha

Hi BFB. Thanks for taking the time and answering some of our questions. I have a question about funding that I was hoping you could shed some light on: If a candidate possesses a year's worth of external funding (i.e. Post 911 GI Bill), would this in any way help increase my chances of admittance into a program? Basically, I wouldn't require funding or even a stipend during the first year. Or, rather is funding handled entirely separately and is not likely to be of any real consequence? Cheers.

I noticed that Vanderbilt and UW sent out interview requests to a few people (i think only 2-3 for each school). At least this is all I can tell from the results board and I'm sure they have sent out more. Is it customary to interview all prospective students or is this more dependent on a particular POI or if a they are unsure of a candidate? I'm certain there is no consensus, but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Congrats to the recent Standford admits! That news must feel amazing.
