  1. Thanks for this insight. I have met grad students from both as well. They are extremely nice and smart and gave me lots of advice.
  2. BTW, I am so glad you have more choices. You will have more for sure!
  3. Did you get full funding? Why would you decline it?
  4. GSB is more AP while PEG is more international. This means I am probably not getting into GSB. Also, PEG almost never accepts Americans. And 50% of its students seem to be coming from KSG (MPP or MPA). This program is the most extreme version of the Ivory Tower. Perhaps, this is why its students don't really become academics at all.
  5. Once I hear back from Harvard PEG, Stanford, Princeton Political Economy and WashU Political Science I am going to be free! But, would I feel empty after all? I worry about feeling empty soon. I hope my thesis helps!
  6. It is open with some professors not on campus.
  7. Also, you're Macchiato now!!!
  8. Agreed. BTW, seriously this person putting negative votes needs to STOP!
  9. This might be very true. Also, some people can just randomly show up and claim hahaha... I am so paranoid.
  10. It sounds awesome, but we may be hoping for too much ?
  11. This is just hilarious! I know this has happened to me several times.
  12. Perhaps, people are hearing back?!
  13. Got into LSE for MSc in IPE. But, I am not going for obvious reasons.
  14. Just a note: Chicago's Poli Sci Department has gone through lots of bureaucratic BS. The departmental politics there is just really nasty. They are trying to put things together though.
  15. I applied to an academic one: Political Economy with Politics, not the one in Public Policy. So, if I get in, I will belong to the politics department with both political scientists and economists supporting me. And, getting a ph.d. in public policy only may imply some disadvantages in the academic job market. If you look at Michigan's Ford School, they offer joint degrees for this reason.
  16. Is this process going to be completely over after February? I just want to hear back from Stanford GSB (Pol Econ), Harvard, Harvard PEG, Princeton WWS (Pol Econ)...! Oh well... BTW, I am so addicted to this particular page on the Grad Cafe!
  17. You were right. You definitely have a shot at Chicago. I wish the best of luck. Although it's unlikely I am going to get in due to "fit," I will lay it down asap in case i do.
  18. The silence of notifications has been broken now. We could expect more and more decisions!
  19. Whenever you post something, people automatically put negatives....
  20. Congrats on Chicago! It's a top-notch institution. One of the only two political science departments that have Nobel laureate alums! The other one, of course, is UCLA
  21. NOTHING... Some acceptances are up on the results page. But, now I don't really count them credible anymore unless there is a reasonable flux of notifications.
  22. Princeton and Penn are closed with Columbia, Harvard and Yale open.
  23. Snow on the east coast! Is it going to delay our decisions from the Ivies?
