  1. I had a visit and got a call for an interview a week later. Obviously that doesn't translate to your situation necessarily, but take it for what you will.
  2. Yes, I think it would be possible. I'm currently pursuing my MA in Women's Studies and I considered applying to PhD programs in English, Cultural Studies, and American Studies. While I decided to stick with PhD apps to WS programs, none of my professors steered me clear of my initial options in other fields. In fact, they encouraged me to consider them. I'm a Canadian who is applying to Canadian and American PhD programs.
  3. Thanks, best of luck to both of you too. I hope you hear from UCSB soon, janaca!
  4. So many new additions to the Rutgers results page!! I'm sitting here biting my nails...still haven't heard a thing. Since people have had both acceptances and rejections I have no idea what to think.
  5. For those applying to Maryland - I was offered an interview, and told that 5 other applicants were selected. This was after playing phone tag with the grad director over the weekend. Keep your phones by your side and best of luck!
  6. Thanks for the reply, FeministCorgi. I'm hoping that I'll win a SSHRC doctoral award (I've made it to the final round), which would mean I could self-fund. If not, siiiigh. Such a shame. I also applied to Maryland, York and U of Toronto. I'm from Ontario, hence the latter two.
  7. I got an email from Rutgers saying that they were impressed by my application, and do I have potential to self-fund? I'm glad that they were impressed, but this makes me feel like I won't be accepted if I don't win the external funding I applied to. I could be reading too much into it, though...
  8. ^ Hi, you may want to check out the thread "Women's Studies - Fall 2015" (in Interdisciplinary Studies as well). I'm sorry about your rejection. It was only one, though, and it sounds like you still have plenty of schools to hear from. Don't lose hope. Your GRE scores are excellent and with high grades in graduate level WS courses, you're not out of the running.
  9. I'm forwarded. I didn't know it was as high as 50%, as Pol was saying. I'm happy to hear that!
  10. I'm currently pursuing my MA, and have applied to the PhD programs at Maryland, Rutgers, York and U of T. So far no word from any of them!
