I finally decided to attend UMN in the Fall. I will be in the PhD program in Health Services Research. I am moving from Hawaii and I know it is a big change. I'd like to meet entering grad students here, if possible. At least know some peeps before I get there. How is everyone else looking for housing? I am not sure if I want to do the roommie thingie or just get a studio/ small 1BR. What is everyone planning on doing about housing?

Sorry buddy. Alexis is right. Some of us have gone through a lot to get our non US citizen same sex spouses to stay here after school. There are no immigration benefits for same sex couples. It's a hard call but you might want your partner to try to get in on F1 too, if possible. Hopefully, change will come soon.

I am taking out loans too sucks but I think it is worth it. At this point I am 70% sure to attend. I live in Hawai'i and I cannot make the trip next weekend for Visit Emory. Hope you have fun. Leave a note on how it goes.... I think the second year will be easier, re: assistantships and stuff.

I also got accepted and 50% sure to attend. MPH Global Health. It's a huge financial committment for me. No scholarships, just loans. How are you paying?
