Received an invitation for UC Irvine's prospective graduate student visiting day. Still have not received an admission though.

well if there are people who have also applied for the MA and who haven't here, then my MA theory is falsified. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

There is one more rejection post. So apparently they sent rejections to some. Maybe to people they consider for the MA? (I already have an MA so it would be absurd for them to offer the MA to me, as UCSD did)

Congrats to all UVA, Rochester admissions! Today has been a weird day so far to me. Apparently Northwestern and Columbia sent out the rejection letters and updated the websites. However, nothing has changed for me on both. While Columbia has already sent out the waitlist letters as well, I still don't expect even a waitlist. But, why don't I receive the rejections? I've checked my junk mailbox, it is also empty.

I'm on the same page with you but i haven't received anything and the website is still the same. I don't think they'd send out personalized rejections, so maybe I'm waitlisted? We'll wait and see I guess

Anybody to claim the Northwestern rejection?

I got rejected from Duke two years ago. They don't send waitlist emails, so the rejections were sent out at around late march. This also means that the ones who don't receive a rejection will always have a chance

Am I the only one who applied to UC Irvine among the people here?

Just had a very productive conversation with a faculty member from UC Irvine. It was mostly on my interests, and potential faculty members to work with. They stated that they are very favorable with my admission, and the final decisions will be made in 2 or 3 weeks. Campus visit on March 3.

I claim the UC Irvine post. If I don't screw it up, I may be getting my first acceptance!

I freaked out about not getting anywhere and actually applied to one more school (UIC). I know that the returns for this program would be much lower compared to the others, but I believe that it would still get me a decent job back home (Turkey), and I have to go back due to MA Fulbright anyways.

I talked to my MA advisor at NYU and told her that some schools have sent out the letters and she said "these people are fast". So I don't expect nyu results this week.

I freaked out when I saw NYU but nobody is claiming it and no more is coming, so maybe a troll? Apparently, the troll is also seeing the forums, so we should be careful.

I have 10 more here. Expecting rejections from at least 6 after yesterday. 2 are great fits, two are lower tier schools. I wish the best for everyone who's waiting. And everyone tells me that it's going to be okay as it's told by @Kenga, but my inner thoughts are the same

I received the UCSD rejection yesterday night, like around 10 pm. If you consider the times in Europe, Middle East, and Asia, it is already a day later there.

Well Columbia is probably a troll, but after today I don't expect it to be a positive result for me. I have 4 lower tier applications, so, I'm still gonna stay positive. Congrats to all those admitted!

So, I suspect my lower verbal score is just killing my applications. Any school or professor I talked stated that lower verbal scores are not that much of a problem for international students. My V score is 157, Q 165, AW 5, and the mentioned people I talked to stated that it would be enough in terms of GRE requirements. However, looking at the admissions page, I only see very high verbal scores. So, I can't stop thinking four rejections so far are related to my lower verbal score, even if I was ensured that it wouldn't cause so. All other materials that I've submitted have been reviewed twice by 3 professors at NYU, so I just feel like I should have had something. Now, I am quite pessimistic for the future. Edit: My subfield is comparative
