NJIT doesn't require the math GRE. Also, does being tied to New Jersey preclude you from applying to schools in New York? It's not that far of a commute, depending on where in New Jersey you live.

I received an email informing me that a decision had been made on my application and that I should log into my account to see it. The subject line of the email contained the word "Congratulations," so I figured I had been accepted, and I was correct.

I can't speak specifically about UC Davis, but my guess is that most statistics care very little (if at all) about the analytical writing score; the quantitative one is what really matters.

I was accepted 5 days after I applied, but I applied for this spring, so that may explain the quick turnaround. I was definitely not expecting such a quick response, given that some of the other programs I applied to took much longer. I assume that Columbia has set days for reviewing applications, and I just happened to apply right before one of them. I wouldn't worry too much; Columbia is on winter break right now so they probably aren't reviewing any applications at the moment. I expect that once the spring semester starts you'll hear back.
