We found out on a weekend last year... Literally like 6pm EST on a SATURDAY. I was so mad, haha. I was not expecting it whatsoever and was like, on a city bus by myself and just started crying like a crazy person calling my mom like "I GOT IT." Not ideal.

Hey guys! One of my friends just declined the Macau ETA, so a spot could be opening up! FYI.
-
Actually, you'll "register" via and online survey, and then they'll send you to the portal of their travel agency. There, you'll put in your dates (ETA and Research dates differ by a day or two) and they'll give you a few flight options of which you'll choose what best works for you. They'll reserve that ticket request with a "ghost credit card" and then officially confirm your itinerary one or two days later.

Our orientation is the first one, which is June 10-14! So that's probably why we've gotten our stuff already.

Booked my orientation travel plans! AHHHHH!!!! IT'S HAPPENING!!!

I'm going to be "that person." Here's the link to the Jordan group! Yay! https://www.facebook.com/groups/fulbrightjordan20152016/

Also ya girl's about to straight up make a FB group so we can stalk each other.
-
WHO SENDS NOTIFICATIONS AT 9:15PM EST ON A SATURDAY!?!? In other news, got the (P) to the ETA in Jordan! YAHOOO!!!
-
dear fulbright, pls respond
-
Congrats to those accepted... is there hope for this week after all?
-
I suppose a selfie of me quietly weeping over the Fulbright logo wouldn't be too helpful, would it?
-
Nope. Like I said... nothing helpful... ha.

Update: I called Jermaine Jones today regarding Jordan grants. ..... no helpful information. Sorry everyone. I tried.

Sorry to hear you're bummed! If you're set on teaching in Macau, I recently saw a posting on Idealist.org for English teachers. While teaching certification is a plus, it's not a requirement. Here's a link to one of the listings I saw: http://www.idealist.org/view/job/WP9g3jDxCbJd/

I called Jermaine Jones about the Middle East. He's out on business til Monday. So I'm not really expecting anything for any of us right now.

I read the forum and saw that Kenya was cancelled for security issues. Then last night I had a bad dream that Jordan was cancelled for the same reason. What do you think are the chances that less-secure Middle East countries (i.e. not Morocco or Israel) are holding out to gauge the current security situation? I know that the Jordanian military is strong and its borders are relatively secure, but with its borders on Syria and Iraq it does pose a liability. Further, those still waiting on Gulf countries, could decisions be swayed by everything going on with Saudi airstrikes in Yemen? Does anyone have ideas that might put these fears to rest?
-
Replace "Bueller" with "Fulbright" and that's me at this point.
-
Looks like this is the day where everyone still waiting on the Middle East finally cracks and looks for answers... haha.
-
well, Morocco and Israel research have been notified per some of the posts here. But as for the rest of us in the MENA region... no dice.
-
No idea, because ours came for the MidEast like two weeks ago and I still haven't heard from Jordan.
-
Dear Diary, It's day 44 since the Fulbright notification period began. For those of us who have yet to be notified, the numbers are dwindling... We are increasingly alone. I'm not sure how much longer morale can stand. God help us.
-
Unfortunately notifications aren't released regionally, but rather by each country specifically. So, for example, while Morocco and Israel have heard already, Jordan has yet to receive news.
-
Jordan ETA notifications are officially later than 2012, 2013, and 2014. 2011 was May 3rd, and if I have to wait that long I'm probably gonna die.
-
That is so amazing! Which city/area will you be in?
-
YAYAYAYYAYAY!!! Congratulations!!! I love and miss Morocco so much! What's your research?
