I second this. I made my friend who got a grant last year forward me his acceptance so I'd know what it looks like... hahaha. The format "Fulbright Application Status (P)" is what you want.

I know in the forums from the past few years I've read that the subjects have frequently been "Fulbright application status" Followed by (p), (a), or (ns), but since the IIE sends out all the decision emails (rather than each country's commission sending them out), I would guess that they use a consistent format each year. But... Who knows!

Oh good, I was needing something else to obsessively pore over each night instead of neurotically reading my own Fulbright essays and the country page three separate times before bed.

Alright guys, who wants to waste time learning about the selection process this weekend?! I found this online.

You can find out who was on the NSC committee, some stuff about the FFSB, the ranking system, etc. I should work on my thesis instead of reading this, but ...

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I wanted to share a cool project my students in Bulgaria are starting! We're trying to raise $25,000 to build a school through the Pencils of Promise organization. Read more about our story here, and click follow on the blog to join us on our journey! Shoot me a note if you'd like to get more involved or help spread the word!

Any Bulgaria ETAs on here? Let me know if you have questions about the program in Bulgaria! I'm happy to be a resource.

. . . I have been doing the exact same thing!

I'm personally hoping they don't reveal the status of my application right in the email's subject line; I'd like to see that I got an email from the Fulbright, and then take some time to put myself in a serene mental state before I read it.

I personally have two bottles of scotch under my bed... so maybe I'll make my own happy/sad box soon as well. TMI?

Anyway, for everyone anxious that it's been TWO WHOLE DAYS with no updates... As someone who went through this process last year I can assure you that it doesn't really mean anything in either direction. My friends who received ETA and research Fulbrights last year heard as late as the end of April, but none earlier than the third week of March or so. We have to keep in mind that these applications and approvals have to go through A LOT of hands before the final offers can be made. Everyone who has sat on a committee or honestly been in a regular ol' office meeting knows how much chatter goes on before any action is actually taken, haha.

So, while the website might reflect Fulbright's IDEAL timeline it doesn't necessarily mean that the dates are very concrete. Honestly, I will be really surprised (pleasantly so!) if anyone on this forum hears by the end of this week. Things will likely begin to trickle in next week, with a sharp increase in notifications in the third and fourth weeks of March.

Good luck to everyone! Let's all try to relax (as much as we can, at least).

Despite my attempts to remain level-headed, I'm imagining I'll have a Michael Scott contingency plan conjured up sometime soon:

It is now day two of the supposed "Fulbright Final Notification" period... I haven't slept well in two weeks.

    Waiting...

A little Dr. Suess life synopsis for us all:
… The Waiting Place……for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
    We are  just waiting.
