Congrats on the upgrade! Were you told your place on the waitlist and such. I waas really close to a CGS (only 2 people needed to decline it) and I am hoping that they did haha. How close were you?

Just A quick question for those with experience; I was wondering how good my chances are about being bumped up to a 105,000 SSHRC. I was told my a SSHRC employee that "the last person offered a CGS (in your sub-group) was 3 people above you, but only one of the two between you was eligible for CGS. So, two people would have to decline the CGS to take up the SSHRC in order for you to receive a CGS offer." My score was 19.80 and I am starting my PhD in History in September. Without getting too specific, what are the chances that I get bumped up, are there generally alot of foreign-based applicants who win the CGS, how big are sub groups. Any information about my chances would be appriciated

Awarded "regular SSHRC" (80,000/4 years) Starting history PhD in fall. Score was 19.80/30- looks like i just squeaked in; wont be one of those bumped up to the 105,000 version likely

I am a MA student at Queen's University in Ontario Canada and I have applied to 4 PhD programs. I was wondering what my chances of getting into either Queen's, York, Trent, or Ottawa would be. I have a 4.1 GPA from my BA but because my school does one-year MAs, I have no official grades from my new school. I have a SSHRC master's award which basically entitled me to a free MA; I have also passed the initial competition for the PhD SSHRC award; something only 2 MAs have done this year in history at my school While I know my chances aren't bad, im still quite nervous about being accepted into a program. The fear is magnified by the fact that I don't have a backup plan to academia at the moment.
