I was told 9 spots in the email as well, but then 7 when I met with the DGS in person...so who knows?? It's my top choice as well and I know that the waitlist is ranked because I was told my spot on it. I wish you good luck. Let's hope some of those who received first offers will accept at other schools!!!
A lot of prospective students were invited to visit a dept. colloquium yesterday or last friday. From the Admissions chair, I know they sent out all notices to the top 13 applicants they are offering spots for by today... waitlisted people are being notified but I don't know if all have been. They only have 7 fully funded spots.
Sorry to all my fellow NYU rejects. Can anyone please explain the results post of the person who got accepted without a bachelors degree!!??!! Is someone trolling?
I also received news I am on the CUNY shortlist. They requested a Skype chat with a adcom member and asked about how important funding was to me. Good luck to all those still waiting to hear!
I'm assuming NYU and Stanford are a no for me, but is anyone else waiting to hear from CUNY? According to the results page last year they had started informing people by now...
12 faculty around a table asking me about my research interests (also my cat decided to jump on my desk and make an appearance)-- I had practiced many times but during the interview I really lost it. I felt like I babbled a bit without getting to the point. It was just a lot of pressure... I'm a younger PhD applicant (21) and really felt the need to prove myself!
Long time lurker! I am one of the UOregon cultural admits, also interviewed for U of Minnesota last week in a very intimidating Skype interview. I am losing it waiting to hear from the other 5 schools I applied to-- checking my email far too many times a day (I'm sure you can all relate).
