Hi, thanks for your quick reply. I’d be happy to elaborate a little more on my interests.
My interests range from race/or ethnicity constructs, social and cultural theory, West Africa, proselytizing religious communities, NGOS, etc. It’s a bit more specific than that, but I think that’s a decent general representation.
I am intrigued by the work of Rouse and Greenhouse, especially, but I am open to working with anyone with similar (but not necessarily exact) interests. I also appreciate the University of Chicago’s commitment to providing students with a good foundation in cultural theory. However, I really do not know much about the other programs other than a handful of publications I’ve read written by faculty members, and the information provided on the website(s). I am a bit concerned about funding, so any information pertaining to that would be helpful as well.
I see that you’ve applied to many of the schools I mentioned above. What were the reasons in the end that led you to do so?
