What would you say is an acceptable EPPP and internship match %? What is unacceptable?

I was wait listed after interview. I thought the interview went very well. I got an offer from another program and contacted POI from school I was wait listed to see if they could update me, then got rejected. Didn't get any explanation. I have checked forums and it seems that no one else has posted anything about being rejected. Does this seem unusual?

Thank you everyone!!! Briarcliff- (I love your avi btw ) are you basing that off of planning for a career in the clinical field? Would your opinion be the same if the career I was planning for is in research or university setting?

Here's the thing... I got admitted into a program but it wasn't my first choice. The advisor is perfect. The program... idk. Everyone keeps telling me that worse comes to worse I could transfer after a year. These people are not in the same field so I don't know if I should listen to their advice.

The clinical program is in the psychology dept. the counseling is in education dept. At least most schools that I'm lookin at.

How hard is it to switch schools once you are already in a program? Is it frowned upon? Does it make you look better since you are already at a school to try to get in at another school?

How important is the fit with the advisor vs. the program/school fit? I have yet to find a reliable source of ranking schools. The school where I got offered admittance is not as well known as some others but the advisor is a great fit and she is a great mentor. I am wait listed at another which is well known but I don't think my chances are very good at this point. My career goal is academia.

I dont know the rankings. I searched US news rankings counseling psychology but only clinical and psychology come up which might be different than counseling.

I'm wondering what the most important factors to consider when deciding between one school and the other? Other than funding. I understand funding is important but what else helps you decide between one school and another. What are things I should be thinking about? There's one school I received acceptance from that I am now second guessing. I applied because I liked a POI and thought her research was interesting. Now I am thinking that the program might not be that great. I want to be in academia. So now, should I just turn down the offer and apply again next year to other programs?

Anyone else get waitlisted? Anyone get accepted? Who are your POI?

I'm considering going here but I wanna know if anyone has first hand experience on the quality of the program. Also what's living in Denton like. I didn't get the chance to ask anyone when I went to the visit. They mostly just said it was asmall town college vibe.
