Is it worth emailing an admissions dept at all this week? I'm assuming they won't be issuing acceptances with 2 days' notice.

  I think that very much depends on the school/program. I got an email last night with an informal acceptance (of a wait list) and the Graduate School is supposed to process the official offer today. This is after I contacted my POI about my status on Friday last week.
