Just wondering if anyone else is applying to STEP? I've seen a lot of discussion about ICE and POLS etc but not much STEP. I'm applying to secondary mathematics. I'm freaking out a bit because STEP wants a STEP Essay and an optional personal statement. I realized today that I sent my essay but forgot to change my title from personal statement to STEP essay. Now I feel like my chances are shot since it seems I submitted the optional personal statement but no required essay (I changed parts of my personal statement to work for the essay but of course in my million read-throughs forgot the stupid title!) Oh well! Here's hoping my other schools accept me!

Hi! Anyone else out there apply to Rice for teaching? I applied for secondary mathematics and am just stressing over all. But hopefully I'm not the only one haha! My GRE scores are not the best (they require at least 70% percentile) and I got 158 in both verbal (78%) and quantitative (71%) and a 5 (80% I think) in writing. I don't know what my problem is with the GRE, I always do great in other standardized tests but the GRE always jumbles my mind! My math class grades are great though. I also took additional math classes at my local community college since my undergrad is in architecture so I didn't have enough undergrad math class credits. I'm just wondering if this will negatively affect my chances since I can't find anything on Rice's acceptance rate breakdown.
