  1. I am not applying for the second deadline, but you should expect the admission decision to be announced roughly 2 months after the deadline for applications, at least judging from when I got my admission decision in the first round this year.
  2. Congratulations to both of you. I just received an e-mail today stating that the rejection e-mail I received was indeed a mistake. I guess they forgot to take some ESOP awardees from the mailing list or something.
  3. Weirdly enough, I got a generic rejection e-mail although I have already been awarded the Excellence Scholarship, have received the official decision at home and have accepted the award about 3 weeks ago. I am waiting for clarification, this left me slightly worried.
  4. A quick update: I just received a conditional offer of admission to the MSc in Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science. Now I am faced with a really hard decision, but I am probably going to reject it and opt for ETH Zurich instead.
  5. I was contacted today by the rectorate of ETH Zurich. They told me that they have mailed the official scholarship decision to my home address.
  6. Hey, just as a reference, there is a thread about the 2015 ESOP:
  7. I do not know how they process the ESOP e-mails, but I did receive mine directly from the Head of Student Services.
  8. Hey guys, I got an e-mail from ETH telling me that I was awarded an Excellence Scholarship
  9. We're going full detective on this
  10. Alright, thanks!
  11. That would be fun, but I would prefer an earlier decision date than that
  12. Last year the decisions came out on a Wednesday. It's a shaky prevision
  13. No news for me, at least... I'm guessing we're getting the results on Wednesday.
  14. I had my interview today. It lasted for a little more than 20 minutes and I think that it went well Also, thank you for your post, it was really informative! Do you have any idea of how long they take to make a decision after the interviews?
  15. I see we're all pretty anxious! I actually did some research on quantum computation last year and found it to be really interesting (from a theoretical computer science perspective, obviously ). Although my pre-proposal has nothing "quantum" on it, quantum computation is deeply related to my interests (Cryptography and Computational Complexity), so it's always nice to meet people who also study things related to quantum computation!
  16. I do not know for sure, but it is likely that they do not inform you if you are rejected. There are no comments addressing rejections from the ESOP in last year's thread and in the results page.
  17. The question was mainly directed at you, I do not know if there is anyone else here who got an interview. There's no problem then, we just gotta have a bit more patience
  18. So, did anyone hear anything about the ESOP? I guess we're getting the results next week...
  19. I am aware that her interview was quite earlier than ours, but I am still hopeful that we will know of the results this week. I am not sure but I guess that the deadline for acceptances/rejections by ETH was also by the 15th of March last year, so I expect some consistency. Milestones are a good idea for present and future reference, yes! _________________________ Informed about interview: 9 Feb Phone interview: 11 Feb Official offer, e-mail: 17 Feb Official offer, snail mail to Portugal: 19 Feb (no word about ESOP) ESOP decision: ? waiting
  20. I feel you Tudor, I am on the same boat. Regarding the decision frame, my only references are last year's decisions, which were communicated on the 5th of March if I am not mistaken.
  21. I received an e-mail this morning inviting me for an interview. I applied (January deadline) for the MSc in Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science. Is there anyone here who already had their interview for this MSc? If so, what was it like?
  22. Just to echo what tudor said, the professor who interviewed me (MSc Computer Science) was not part of the admission committee either and he did not mention any kind of deadline for a decision. Judging by last year's responses that were posted here in the forum it shouldn't take more than 1-2 weeks for the decisions to come out. I have noticed that different MSc programs have different response times, Computer Science seems to have been one of the first. I guess that if acceptances for Mechanical Engineering had been sent already someone would have posted a result here. We are still more than two weeks away from the official deadline, so don't worry, you can manage the wait with a bit of patience. Good luck!
  23. I also had the interview for the ESOP on February 11th. I applied to the MSc in Computer Science (Theoretical Computer Science). The professor said he was going to recommend me for the scholarship.
