  1. Just search under "ETH". Seems that there have been two admissions for Computer Science. http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/
  2. Well first person has posted their admission results on the Results Search (yesterday). It shouldn't be too long before the next bunch of results come out.
  3. I have applied to both Imperial and ETH. GRE was required for me because I am from outside of Europe, however, I don't think that you can submit your GRE score to Imperial. I think that at ETH they might use it, but not at Imperial.
  4. I got this email: "We herewith acknowledge receipt of your application for the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP). We do NOT check your documents for completeness. The Admissions Committee of the Master's degree programme you applied for is going to evaluate your application soon. The result will be communicated by e-mail approximately three months after the application deadline. Please note that the scholarship decision will be sent to you separately from the admissions decision. Sincerely, ETH Zurich, Scholarship Office"
  5. Just based on when interviews were sent last year. There was a previous thread where one of the posters received the scholarship. They had an interview at around about this time (28th January).
  6. We are again nearing the dreaded time of the year when interview invites are sent out for the ETH Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Program. As my first choice school I am really hoping to get an interview... Has anyone heard anything yet?
  7. I would love to do a simple "English language screening" test like that. In fact in many cases it makes sense because in 5 minutes you would have an idea of how well the person can speak english. However, getting me to pay $200 to "prove" that I can speak english is ridiculous. Many schools also refuse to take the GRE verbal or writing portion as proof. Although it is not really testing all of the specific skills you do have to have some concept of the english language to do well.
  8. I am fluent in english, received my entire education in english and live in a commonwealth country... Yet it seems that this is not enough for some admissions departments (especially those in the Netherlands). Apparently if you come from an African country you immediately have to do the TOEFL/IELTS. It is absolutely ludicrous. In some cases the admissions departments ask if you are from an English speaking country, but the problem with that question is that only very few countries actually fit that criterion.
  9. Undergrad Institution: Probably best university in the country... (South Africa) Major(s): Clinical Medicine Minor(s): N/A GPA in Major: 80/100 Overall GPA: 80/100 Length of Degree: 6 Years Position in Class: Top 5% Type of Student: International, male GRE Scores: Q: 165 V: 164 W: 4,5 Research Experience: My university: cancer stem cell research, will be doing some CRISPR-cas work with HIV next year. Germany: microfluidics and NMR research. Unfortunately no publications and total research experience will be less than a year by the time I enter a masters or PhD. Not very much time during a medical degree. Awards/Honors/Recognitions: Dean's list Sports and academic scholarships Any Miscellaneous Accomplishments that Might Help: National team member of my sport. Represented my country overseas for the past 4 years.
