  1. Hi there Catrin, I'll be applying for the John Jay PhD later this year. Do you think that it'd be possible for us "aspiring" applicants to know your stats?
  2. I am a foreign student in a top 5 PhD program (IR), and my GRE scores were Verbal: 740, Quant: 620, Analytical Writing: 6 All I would say is that, to those with high-end verbal skills but lacking a little on the quantitative side - don't give up hope! But that being said, be sure to try and make yourselves known to faculty before applying, as I did. Hope this helps!
  3. These are two older books, and possibly not that widely read nowadays but no less essentially for that. Geraint Parry: Political Elites Giovanni Sartori: Parties and Party Systems
  4. The package contained just one letter from the Dean of GSAS with all necessary details, (re fellowship). Was half expecting there to be included some glossy pamphlets about CU, but I guess that comes later. Hope this helps!
  5. Fedex arrived. You should all be receiving your official letters shortly!
  6. Just to confirm I also live in NYC and am still waiting (impatiently) for the Columbia Fedex, (shouldn't it have arrived by now?). Am interested in IR theory (structural realism and the english school) - and am trying to decide between political theory and comparative for the minor field. Congrats to all prospectives, and see you at the open house!
