Hey yeah, Great response. Thanks! I know a couple MFA students at Hunter, also a few BFA students. I did my BA there. Well, I was there 2 years doing mostly the art credits for a 2nd BA. The faculty is great and I know that Hunter gets lots of attention. That's my dilemma really. Sure, Rutgers is giving me money, but is there any attention given to Rutgers MFA students? I already teach, but design stuff and not art. I will continue teaching, but fewer classes. I intend to go to the open studios. I do every year, although this will be the first time in a while that I'll be going on Friday. I've had Friday evening classes to teach for a while now, but not this term. I'd have taken it off anyway because of the interview.

Hi Milkways, I have not heard from all schools yet, but I have an interview with Hunter 3/13, and am assuming that Columbia has rejected me despite not having heard anything. Rutgers is the only acceptance that I've received up to now and it came with VERY big funding (I don't feel comfortable saying the amount, but it is truly very big). I live in NYC, so if I get into Hunter also (which does not give funding at all), I am going to have a difficult time deciding. Hunter is relatively inexpensive, I won't have to relocate or buy a car, I have a bit of a network there already, and I'll be able to continue with my current job (although with a reduced schedule). With Rutgers, there'll be much more of an adjustment. I'm leaning toward the money, but reserving judgement... also welcoming input and recommendations from all!

Hi gwen, I got an acceptance in early to mid February and notification of Funding this past weekend (and they are calling me often putting big pressure to make a decision ASAP); but I myself have not yet heard anything from Columbia. This whole process is nothing if not frustrating. Good luck to you.

Accepted to Rutgers with big funding. Super excited. Here's a question for anyone: If I have to choose between Hunter (no funding) and Rutgers (big funding), which would you recommend?

yeah, yestoyeahhh, got a response to an email today that I sent to them asking about info regarding decision. They said what you said. I know some people have interviews this week, so I figure I'm out.

hi wzhao, I will have to re-read the email with the instructions. It sort of freaked me out...lol...and made me more nervous. Yes about images, but regarding the quality, I will do my absolute best, but to have it all ready in a week is a bit much to ask for super-high quality images. Definitely nervous. Have you heard from Columbia?

Yeah, I will. I go every year already (I live in NYC), and have friends already in the program to visit. Definitely plan to visit. You?

I am actually friends with someone who teaches in painting at Yale and had a lunch with her on 03/01/15. She said that they'd already made decisions. To be honest, I cannot quite remember if she'd said they'd already had interviews and decided or whether they had just already sent out invitations for interviews.

I just found out that I was rejected by Yale sculpture. I did NOT receive an email, but I went onto the application site and found a note there instead.

Hi Lila Adams, The head of the department called me in mid-February, and then a week or so later Nathalie Bookchin, one of the faculty, called. Congrats on your acceptances and interviews. I'm still waiting on Columbia and Yale... irritating.

Does anyone know if Yale has sent out responses for Sculpture yet (I know they have for painting), or Columbia for New Genres?

Hey yestoyeahhhh, Yes they do. All interviews from what I understand in all disciplines are Friday, March 13... let's hope it's not an unlucky day! I have an interview in Combined Media. Good Luck to you!
