I have just been offered a position at Western!!! I have 24 hours to decide and it would be a confirmed acceptance..taking me off the wait list at u of t. It's a hard decision and I have to review finances
Im so happy for you!! Congrats!
-
Just officially accepted my offer at U of T and declined Western's offer so I hope a Westen hopeful gets good news soon!

Hey guys,
I was thinking of retaking a course I got a B in that is really doing damage to my transcript. However, I was told that if I retake it it takes a full year for it to replace my old grade on my transcript, so ORPAS winds up taking BOTH your grades. Just want to confirm this
"ORPAS includes all courses and marks, including failures, incomplete, repeated, and supplementary courses."
I copy and pasted that from their little handbook - page 11!
https://www.ouac.on.ca/docs/orpas/b_orpas_e.pdf
Hope that helps

Hi all, I'm new to this forum.
Congrats to all successful applicants!
I'm currently wait listed at mcgill.... Just wondering if anyone had heard of people getting off the waitlist? I'm not sure when (or if) I should expect any news.
Thanks!
I just declined my offer today so I hope you hear good news soon! We had until April 8th so I would think youd hear in the next few days.

I'd like to write a thesis as part of my M.Sc.A and I've made a connection with one of McGill's professors to supervise me. Plus, I'm hoping to specialize in voice disorders and rehabilitation, and McGill's program provides the most extracurricular exposure and opportunity to this specialty.
Added bonus, I'm using the two years to become officially bilingual.
All in all, I fully believe it's less the program you attend, and more the opportunities you make out of your program. Montreal seems like a great new adventure for me at this point in my life. I've participated in a lot of programming at UofT the past 2 years (I'm a student there), and the profs really are world class. So don't doubt your decision. There's great teachers, and amazing clinics associated with their program!
Awesome thanks for the input. Now if I could find some reasonable rent Ill be the happiest student out there.

Officially a M.Sc.A. at McGill. Spots have opened up at UofT and Western .
Any other McGill-er's on here?
What made you pick McGill? I think Im pretty set on U of T but reading this made me question myself haha

Hi everyone,
I just stumbled across this board a couple of days ago. I'd like to congratulate everyone who got accepted. I've been offered admission at U of T and Western, but will most definitely be going to U of T. So that will clear up a spot for those of you on Western's waitlist
U of Ters, would you like me to create a Facebook group? Or does anyone know if one already exists?
Yes!! I tried looking and couldn't find one so let me know if you do!
-
Also in at U of T! I believe I will be accepting U of T and declining Western and McGill!
-
I emailed Western about my waitlist place last night and they emailed me back that I am on the top third of the list! Anyone who is waitlisted should try asking!
That is great news! Don't lose hope!

Does anyone know when we hear from Toronto?
Last year it was around 9, 9:30 ish in the morning for acceptances, thats all I know though!
-
accepted to western! Come on U of T!

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if it is mandatory that we make an account on rosie to figure out our application status for Toronto, or will we be getting our acceptance through emails?
Goodluck everyone
I believe they send out an email tomorrow morning! I have made a ROSI account and it says 'invited' but its not clear if that means accepted or not as of just yet..
-
I just got in off the waitlist at Alberta!!!!! Freaking out.
Yay!! Hopefully this is the first piece good news of many in the next 24 hours!
-
On ROSI, mine just says "no registration history" under the registration headline
Darn, here I thought I had solved everyone's problem.
Keep in mind theyre likely going through and doing all of the applicants - they didnt tell us to sign on to this so I dont think theyre necessarily ready for us we just figured it out
-
Mine still says applicant data not found
Anybody else?
Mine says the exact same thing. I hope its just a default thing and not that they actually can't find my application! I'm sure we're fine
I wish I could even sign onto the website.. i really hope they were not lying when they said the site was only applicable to individuals who applied for housing
Mine still says "applicant data not found". Glad I'm not the only one!
I figured it out - I was personally logging on to the wrong website so you guys might have been too!
You need to go to ROSI and use your student number to make yourself a pin, and then log in there. The login website from the first email we got was just the website for housing.

Mine still says that too!

When I login to the "join u of t" page and click "check status", it says "applicant data not found". This is my second time applying. Last time I applied was 2 years ago. I'm so worried! I guess I should email them. Is anyone else seeing this?
yeah that's what mine says and everyone else I think.. so not to worry! Just not sure when well get log in information or have applicant data available
-
I'm confused
I applied to Western and Toronto two years ago but I was never a student at either university. Where am I suppose to check the status of my applications? Help!
My friend applied last year but was never a student and she had to contact them because apparently its different for you. I think it may be the same login ID and such as the first time you applied but it cant hurt to ask.
-
Mine says cancelled haha. And non-degree student?
Does your say something different?
I am assuming rosi will not change until we get accepted and accept the offer
See on my Western account (because I go here) it says status 'applied' and that will change on April 1st.. so Im just wondering if there should be somewhere that shows that the application is in progress.. Glad that everyone is in the same boat though.
-
I just emailed both schools to make sure, I will let you know what they reply. I really hope it was just a mistake!
RE: Mandaleelocke
This is my first year applying.
Maybe U of T's email went to junk by mistake? It wasn't marked very clearly. Either way I dont think its a big deal.. but maybe look into it just so you can make sure you have the login info you need to see if you got accepted!
-
I did not get ANY EMAIL FOR U OF T or WESTERN. I am starting to FREAK OUT!!!!! Should I call the schools and make sure they have my application???
I didn't get one either. I'm sure it's fine.
Did you apply last year by any chance? A friend of mine did and she did not get an email so she called them about it and they said they screwed up a bunch of re-appliers. It was just your login info and the opportunity to apply for housing.. maybe give them a call if you want your login but I wouldn't worry too much because Im sure they got your application if ORPAS says they did. Also, I go to Western so I can already log on to the system, but everyone else is saying they have yet to hear from them so don't fret!
-
Mine says the same thing. They contact us by email on April 1st so maybe our status online will never be updated? I got nervous when I saw that as well so I'm glad I'm not the only one
Mine says "applicant data not found". So you're not the only one!
Okay good! Thanks guys

A big thing for me was going to office hours or just talking to them here and there after class or through email. Whether it be to discuss how you should go about an assignment, to review subject matter, or just to introduce yourself, they'll acknowledge that you're going the extra distance to do well in their class and that you are dedicated. Also, if possible, if any of them have research labs offering to lend a hand was a big help for me. I started as a volunteer in my professor's lab and ended up being hired as her assistant. Just getting to know your profs is super helpful! Talk to them and do well in their class and they'll be more than happy to write you a letter.
