  1. For those of you applying to U of T who got the Ujoined email - when you log on what does it say? I clicked 'check status' and it says 'no applicant information available'. I know the acceptance isnt out until April 1st but I would think it would at least say applied or something. Does anything different happen to anyone else?
  2. Could you post a link to that article by any chance? Id love to read it to see if it impact my decision!
  3. Wow your application sounds super competitive I am very surprised. Did you apply in Ontario as well? I'm sorry to those that did not get in. Don't be discouraged by this rejection guys - McGill takes the least out of everyone. I have 2 friends who got rejected from McGill but still got in to Ontario schools last year. Just hold out for April 1st!
  4. Does anyone know where I can find tuition fees for each school? I have only been able to find general graduate tuition fees but Im assuming clinical is a bit different. Im also assuming Mcgill is a bit pricier if you're out of province but I have had no success in looking. Any help would be appreciated!
  5. This is all very interesting to me! I know Toronto has a centre specifically called 'the Speech and Stuttering Institute' and I volunteered there one summer and they have stuttering camps throughout! Perhaps this is the only placement opportunity for fluency, Im not sure, but it is definitely a good one. Im not sure about adult neuro at Western but London is one of the biggest cities in Ontario and has 4 hospitals (that I know of), but I have been told placements in London are few and far between in general which is what scares me. Also, thank you for bringing up the issue of speaking french for placements at McGill. I never would have considered that and although I speak French it is definitely not well enough to give therapy in it.
  6. I tried looking into a 'ranking' system, but because there is so few programs in Canada they're all basically considered equal. Obviously McGill has the smallest class size, so that is a bonus. Western has an in-house clinic that is convenient - however there are little to no opportunities within London for clinical placement options, and as transit to get in and out of London is BRUTAL (I go to Western now) that would be an issue for anyone without a vehicle. U of T has the biggest class size which is a bummer, but because you're in Toronto there are a lot of opportunities around you, and with transit there that's not as stressful for someone like me who does not have a car.
  7. I live in Ontario and got a call, but thats still much closer than some applicants live so who knows!
  8. I'm hoping the fact that I was accepted to McGill means I will be let in in Ontario as well, and as U of T is my first choice a spot will open up for McGill on April 1st if thats the case!
  9. Hey guys!! I got a call from McGill around 430 today saying I was accepted. Very exciting! Let me know if you have any questions!
  10. Wow that is TORTURE Why cant they post on the forum :'( It says by phone which is interesting.. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
  11. I know! I should calm down.. two years ago was about the 18th I think so I wont panic if I don't hear in three days.. but it is definitely nerve racking!
  12. Last year's McGill acceptances went out on March 12 - I am freaking out!!
  13. Ohh I understand! This did not affect me because they averaged my second year for the additional 2 credits they needed and I took summer courses between third and fourth year. Not sure if that made sense, but I understood what you were saying at least haha.
  14. Really? Some of my summer courses are my pre reqs.. is this bad? My summer courses were given equal weight in my sub GPA calculation for orpas
  15. I think it was 27 last year?
  16. I have PMed you all if you dont mind sharing stats
  17. Congrats to everyone who got accepted to U of A! You're all making me wish I had applied there so that I could KNOW for at least one place by now! So exciting!
  18. Last year I believe people who got in heard around March 12,13 and those who did not get in did not hear for another week or two :s
  19. From my experience (through other people who have applied) Western and U of T are both April 1st. ONLY A MONTH AWAY GUYS
  20. I think the majority of work is working with the elderly yes; my nephew is currently seeing an OT for poor dexterity and writing skills, but I feel like cases like his are much more rare than those of older stroke victims, Parkinson's patients etc.
  21. Ugh thats both good and bad to hear I guess.. I hate that no one is a sure thing! It's impossible to predict because it seems like its subjective and we never know what they're looking for. All we can do is hope for the best now.. I just want to wake up and have it be April already.
  22. Thank you! Good luck to you as well. And that's good to know about McGill, I always thought it was harder to get in from out of province but I guess McGill is just hard to get into period.
  23. Applied to McGill, U of T, Western Rejected 0/2 Wait listed 0/2 Accepted 0/2
