So I heard from someone in their second year of the program that they actually sent 40 something acceptances last year (about 5 or 6 more than they usually do) and expected an average of 5 to reject their offer. All of their offers were accepted so their class size is way too big this year. I think they try to avoid creating a waitlist, but I imagine they wouldn't have made one if they didn't expect a few folks to reject their offers. Hope this helps a bit!

I got a similar email yesterday. It said I was top of the waitlist (I applied last year and was rejected, long story). This is the only school I applied to though. I know that they have accepted people off the waitlist in the past, I just don't know what each year is like. It could happen! Hopefully some people reject their offers!

I only applied to one school. I applied last year and was rejected, but told I had a stellar application, but I had to get more work/volunteer experience. So this year I did just that, and was in contact with members of the admission committee, went to an open house and party with members of the department and program (and got the "you're basically in" kind of feedback)... I still haven't heard anything. They sent me a really vague email saying that they got a lot of good applications and I'd hear back by April 25th. I know they had another open house and accepted a bunch of people. I just dunno.. I'm trying really hard not to take it personally but it is a bummer. I think I'll send in an addendum if they're okay with that. The wait is killing me.

I called anonymously week ago for my program because I wasn't sure if emailing was appropriate, just to get an idea of how their admissions process worked. I'm afraid of looking desperate, but I kind of am haha! Still not very confident about what's going on over there. Your due date is a month earlier than mine, so I would think that emailing would be acceptable by now, unless they state otherwise on their website. Good luck!

To those who've been accepted or are waiting, did your account state that your application was under review? Also, had any of you been in contact with the department prior to applying? Has anyone been rejected? I just don't know what to expect any more
