[Waiting it out: Munk School MGA (Toronto) Fall 2015]

Balsillie is my top choice but I'm more than a little concerned about how few people they accept! Munk should be coming out in a few days, as well!

do you mind if i ask you what attracts you to Balsillie over Munk? im trying to gague the strengths/weaknesses of all the schools i've applied to

Hey! I unfortunately don't know too much about Carleton's MA, but my thesis advisor did her MA in Political Science at Carleton and she said she loved it. She is friends with a lot of the faculty and she said that the department shares a wide range of interests. Her area of interest is the Middle East (Islamist movements, democracy, etc.) and apparently she has worked with a few Carleton professors on publications. A lot of NPSIA professors also teach Political Science so I'm sure the faculty is amazing! Carleton is also a very nice school. Ottawa is a great city to be in (rent isn't too expensive, it's very political, it's very well kept, etc.). so I'm sure you would really like Carleton. 

thats great to hear! and i was actually curious about the link between NPSIA and Poli Sci as well as rent costs, so thanks letting me know    !!

 

 

A friend of mine who's currently there digs it. He chose carleton over ottawa and toronto.

by any chance do you know what made your friend choose carleton over ottawa and toronto?

I know its a long shot because it's a very tiny program with a very small pool of applicants, but any fellow BSIA applicants for the MA Global Governance program? I can't be the only one!

i also applied for balsillie for global governance. since theres already 3 of us in this thread, i guess it wasnt such a long shot after all lol!

Also got accepted to Carleton for Political Science. In case anyone is interested in knowing about funding, they offered me $7000 each year as well as a TA position. 

Does anyone here know about the strengths/weaknesses of carleton's MA?  i actually dont know much :S

my application has been "Recommended for Assessment" since around the same time as everyone else.

 

Btw, does anyone here know anything about the Political Science MA at Carleton? in my fear of not getting into any IR program, i also applied to poli sci (concentration in IR) and got in. anyone know if poli sci grad students can enroll in some npsia classes?
