  1. Hey all, I received an email a few hours ago letting me know I'd been accepted in GW's MA program! It's my first news and it's good news! It feels incredible!
  2. You're killing it, congrats!
  3. Congrats!
  4. Gotcha, thanks for the info. Looking forward to my first feedback, as I have yet to hear from the other schools to which I applied (all terminal MAs).
  5. Siegfried, just curious where you heard this. Last update I received from GSU was a generic email saying that they hope to make a decision by Mar 3.
  6. Hey, just wondering what questions are or are not appropriate to ask an admissions office in light of rejection. Can I ask if my GPA was not high enough, if my recs weren't good enough, or if my paper was not up to par? Are all these kosher questions to ask?
  7. I have yet to hear anything from tufts, brandeis, and ucla. Presuming rejections from all three. Has anyone heard from these schools?
  8. Hi twasbrilling, would you mind answering some questions? 1) Do you have a master's? 1a) If not, What undergraduate university did you attend? 2) Area of Interest No worries if you don't want to answer, I'm just curious.
  9. Thanks so much theoldpond, I may just take a look at GSU.
  10. Hey Phenofun, UVA gave me a link on the first page after logging into the applciation. It says: your application status is now available online". Maybe that isn't on yours? As always, best of luck.
  11. Hi all, just a quick question to anyone who might have any answers. Most people who haven't heard back from places seem, like me, to be speculating non stop. I've been rejected from two schools (UVA (which, for those wondering, is on their website) and London School of Economics). I have yet to hear anything from UCSD (which seems to have sent out a good deal of acceptance, wait lists, and rejection letters), Tufts, Brandeis, or UCLA. Those are the four I am waiting on. A little about myself: interests in philosophy of science, mind, language, and pragmatism. I went to a top liberal arts school, had a good overall GPA and a very good major gpa (in philosophy). I did well (V: 84th percentile, M: 88th percentile, Writing: 5.5-98th percentile) but not outstanding on my GREs, and I presume my LORs are excellent. A little wild card on my end is that I wrote the paper I submitted completely on my own, from scratch, using readings I had never discussed in a classroom setting or with a teacher. Any thoughts at all would help mitigate the anxiety I'm currently feeling.
