Hi There, I am working in my application for a PhD program at UBC at the School of Population and Public health. I already have a potential supervisor but I was wondering how competitive is that? I have no research background but a very extensive clinical experience, great GPA and goo references. My grade in stats is 92% and my GPA is 3.91. How important is to have publications? Is that hard to get into the PhD program? Any comment, tips, thoughts are welcome. Thanks

Is there any Alumni from Western that would like to make a comment about the program? I am kind of excited to start it soon but I haven't heard a lot about it here in this forum.... Any comments? Good or bad...I can take both :-)

I am also waiting for Western...Does anyone know how competitive is to get in? How many people are admitted per year? There's NONE scholarship or grants for this program and it cost $32k the program...still though, I think it's competitive...Thoughts?

Just to let you know...Called Lakehead University this week because I had some problems with some documents...Anyway...I ended up asking when I would hear from them...They said they will start to contact people by the end of this month...So just more few weeks for who is waiting for Lakehead MPH.

I had applied to SFU Population Health Concentration. I haven't heard from SFU yet...No yeah or Nah... I saw some people here in this forum being contacted by SFU but most Global Health.... Anyone accepted for the Population Health Program?

I applied to SFU and Waterloo. Waiting....I believe they will start to contact by mid march/april. Someone any news from those programs?
