  1. Guys. Maybe it is kind of stupid, but I really want to know whats your feelings now for those who are waiting for decisions after interview. I did my interview on March 16th. I have seen someone who got interviewed on that day or after getting acceptance. I am kind of stressed now, although I still think it does not mean a negative thing for me. Since if there is a bad news for me, I would have already received it. But I am going crazy here. I cant even count how many times i check my emails every hour. Kind of hard to focus on things although I still have a lot of things to do. OMG. Every day feels like a week for me now. How about you guys? Am I the only crazy kid here?
  2. Congratulations ! Emnoda ! Could you possibly tell us which region you belong to? Since I know the admission team usually evaluate applicants region by region.
  3. Hey guys . Let's calm down. They haven't replied to my 4 emails already since March 11th. The only reply, which does not work at all, comes from an intern in the department. I suppose so many meetings and decisions are going on there. Let's wait for good news together.
  4. LoL. Actually that guy does give me a feeling that he is faking himself. He sounds like a robot. Cornell is great ! Have you accepted ?
  5. Good luck to you man. Hopefully I can get some news for me next week, since I just finished my interview this Monday, March 16th.
  6. Guys. Check this out: https://www.quantnet.com/threads/columbia-ms-e.19419/#post-146802 There is one guy getting admission this afternoon. He get interviewed very early, around March 5th. Decisions are coming out these days ! BTW, how is everyone's interview? I think I had a pretty happy time talking with the interviewer. The interview lasted over 20 minutes. We talked about quiet a few questions: Tell some more about you? Why you think you are a good fit? What taught you the most in your life? Whats the biggest adjustment in your life? How you fund the education ? Have you done any case studies?(She just wanna make sure. She didnt ask any technical questions.) What do you want to do after graduation? I also asked about 4 questions: How is the course "operational consulting"? How is the campus life during the graduate study? Are there many opportunities for consulting jobs? Do you have a supervisor in this program? At last, because I mentioned I read some papers from professors, she asked "which professor is your favorite?"
  7. True. They haven't replied to my emails since last Thursday. Usually they reply to my email within 3 days. I think they are actually using students to handle the applications, since it's abvious that the students are taking the spring break now. Next week should be the first week when decisions come out.
  8. Oh man. That could not be possible. The website usually only show those students who are involved in student affair or something else. I have already known some students who are in this program but not in that list. Based on some data online and some other evidences, I think they will probably accept around 40-50 students for this program, which is normal in many other graduate program. Also, when I was signing up for my interview, i saw the interviewer has 13 interviews in two days. So we can assume that they will probably interview around 30-40 students each week. It is not practical for the admission office to assign interviews to a certain interviewer every day. So they must have several students doing interviews for us in different days. Also they need to process further review after interviews, so I think this number should be realistic. So by now the interview has been going on for almost 3 weeks by the end of this week, then we can assume that at most 120 students will be interviewed by this Friday. I think this number is more realistic. Then around half of them or more may be accepted. I guess the total number of applicants for this program is around 400-500 all around the world, including those who cant actually make their application complete, those who apply this for fun, those who dont give a s*** on this, those who can barely make it. Eventually, there should be around 250 or less applicants are basically qualified for further review. Here is a link about the acceptance rate in this department: http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/columbia-university-fu-foundation-school-of-engineering-and-applied-science-department-of-industrial-engineering-and-operations-000_10014694.aspx I am not quite sure about the information in this link. But i think generally this information is valuable. BTW, I submitted my application on Jan 6th, but my application hasnt been completed until Feb 8th, when I got my GRE score. I had the interview with them yesterday. I am assuming the first round decision will be made next week. Some could possibly be made by Friday, according to the admission results from last year. Good luck to all of you guys.
  9. LoL. Good luck to you bro.
  10. Jesus Christ, Mr ColdRain.Sheep. Nice to find you here !
  11. Mine will be in the next week. Looking for someone to share some experience with them.
  12. Actually there arent any obvious changes in your online application until any final decision is made I think. But if your application is being reviewed, you wont be able to update any information in your application any more. (e.g. you wont be able to upload a new version of ps, since the upload botton for ps is removed.) Actually it takes several weeks for my application to be reviewed. I dont know how about you guys' application, so I cant tell more about what does it mean.
  13. Hi elt93 I dont think you need to assume a rejection at this point because of other's interviews. As I explained above, my application was just reviewed 3 days ago, so there must be another wave of application reviews ongoing. I suppose that more interviews will be offered before Mar 20th. If we still don't receive any interview notifications around that time, we can then assume a rejection.
  14. I am an international student now studying in Canada. I submitted my application on Jan 6th, 2015, but my application turned into complete on Feb 8th, 2015, since I just got my new GRE score at that day. I realized that my application was reviewed just 3 days ago, because I could still edit my application last Sunday. While starting from this Monday, I can no longer edited my application online, which means my application has been reviewed. For sure I havent received any email for interview so far. I dont know what does it mean that my application was reviewed from such a late date. Or maybe our application goes into second round of review directly after you can no longer change your online application ?
