Hi there, I have applied to several graduate programs in economics : MIT, Harvard, Harvard HKS, Princeton, Berkeley, Stanford, Stanford GSB, Columbia, NYU, NYU Stern, Yale. Do these schools usually organize interviews during the admission process?

Hi everybody! I am applying to US PhD programs in Economics. I am currently working as a RA on two very different projects (one in economic theory, the other mostly empirical). Indeed, I wanted to have varied research experiences before specializing in a field and I had the opportunity to work with renowned economists in those two areas. However, in a statement of purpose, is it better to mention future research goals in only one specific field?
