  1. Log into the admissions page and refresh that. You could find out a few minutes or a few hours earlier than your email would arrive! I'm personally switching between checking Georgetown and George Washington. George is gettin' upset....
  2. Last year they announced by this time in March. So I'm optimistic we'll hear today. If not today, then tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then day after tomorrow. If not then, then...
  3. Thanks for the info! Time to pretend I know how to patiently sit still and wait.
  4. How do you guys know suddenly today that you got in? No email for me or update on the portal.
  5. Doesn't taking the Loan Repayment Program negate your GI Bill eligibility? (I have no idea.) Also noticed we both chose the same incognito username... haha.
  6. I didn't get funding from SIPA this week, so I will probably end up turning down my admissions offer when all my results are in. For the yellow ribbon, you can read here about how they did the process last year: http://admissionsblog.sipa.columbia.edu/tag/yellow-ribbon-program/ It appears it's on a first-come, first-serve basis for the first 27 students according to http://veteranaffairs.columbia.edu/content/yellow-ribbon-program-1. I saw another school (forgot which one) who had a set pool of Yellow Ribbon money and it was distributed evenly between all those who applied. Columbia gives out $8,700 for their program... which would be matched with another $8,700 from the U.S. government. That's the largest Yellow Ribbon contribution I've seen from all of the schools in my signature below. Btw I was active duty for almost 8 years, then went home for a few months and then straight to undergraduate overseas. It was a piece of cake to adjust... Everything is way more laid back times 100. You will have no issues at all.
  7. Two days is not "soon". That's like several years!
  8. Nothing yet. At least I got SAIS + $$ so I know I have a TOP TOP choice already. It would still be nice to know if I got Georgetown, and how much institutional funding.
  9. Dang, I am wondering exactly these same things!
  10. I've seen plenty of people on these forums turn down SAIS acceptance from previous years. Often due to funding, sometimes due to other reasons, so sure they do take people off the waitlist. Read about how to handle being waitlisted, and try to improve your chances!
  11. I got 15k also! Fletcher gave me 12k for comparison. But my application to SAIS had an analytical essay and more Statement of Purpose space to flesh out my research focus for the Adcom. Keep in mind that 15k is renewable for the second year at SAIS, also.
  12. I just got an email about a fellowship award. I haven't logged in to see the amount yet. I can't believe it.
  13. Just waiting. Nothing on my account yet! I'm switching back and forth between George Washington and Georgetown now. Haha.
  14. Last year SFS MSFS announcement was today. This Friday in this week in March. I think at the very end of the day around 6:00pm EST? Don't quote me on that last part. I haven't heard anything concrete for it this season, though.
  15. MY DECISION FOR D.C. MA IS POSTED ON THE SITE. ACCEPTED!!!! I'm soooooooo happy. SAIS is my top choice, tied with Georgetown... they both have strong programs in the niche international field I'm interested in, but SAIS may be stronger. Now to wait and see what Georgetown says! No word on financial aid yet:
  16. Did you apply for the MA program? I checked my MA portal for SAIS, and no update yet. Guess I'm going to be refreshing like mad now.
  17. Last year, Georgetown SFS released their MSFS admissions results on Friday this week in March. Any idea if it'll be the same this year? I know that SAIS is already scheduled for tomorrow. SIPA, Fletcher, and SIS are already out, too.
  18. I suppose you've already used up your GI Bill. I have almost 2 years worth of schooling remaining, since I graduated early from undergrad. That cuts almost a 1/3 or 1/2 of the tuition out of the picture right away.
  19. Thanks, good to know for sure! Congratulations
  20. Thanks for making this thread!! I got accepted! But no news about funding. I'm going to assume that means no funding. Did anybody else receive funding?
  21. I was accepted with funding even though I had a clearly missing word in the very first sentence of my supplemental essay that I was worrying about for months. There is hope for us overanalyzers after all!
  22. Check your applications on the site! I got into Fletcher! No email yet, just a random refresh!
