  1. You know they are going to issue their final decisions on institional financial aid today, right? Probably they have already made their decisions but do you really want to take a chance worth possibly tens of thousands of dollars?
  2. Yep, call them today ASAP and ask. Your application must have glitched, that was a question that was asked on the application.
  3. Yep... that's how SIPA was for me this week. I was reading a book in front of my computer and suddenly my email inbox popped up with an unread message from Columbia. Then my phone chimed at me and showed me part of the message. I about had a heart attack logging in to check the page, lol. Now that I have an acceptance letter in my pocket, I hope it will be less nervewracking when Fletcher and the others arrive.
  4. From Fletcher's admissions blog:
  5. Nobody has gotten Georgetown SFS news yet. SIPA released their news on Monday, so you should check your spam box and email them to ask. Don't wait longer.
  6. My favorite was an acceptance I saw on SAIS from last year:
  7. I emailed them about this. It would be attached to your admissions letter if you were getting anything. They have already offered all fellowships and funding sources, so if you didn't get an offer from Columbia yet (like me) then you won't be getting one. It means no funding.
  8. Did you guys receive a really nice personalized email from Fletcher in mid-February, saying the admissions officer enjoyed x, y, and z about your application? I did, and saw elsewhere on gradcafe that others were also receiving them. And I wonder what the competition is like! Care to post your stats while we wait? GPA: 3.6 GRE: 162V, 161Q, 4.0AW Age: 27 Experience/qualifications: Rare asian language, acquired at a language academy and now fluent; Attended university overseas in said country and received an unusual but highly relevant degree for IR studies; U.S. military veteran; Summer internship at U.S. embassy overseas; Three strong LORs. Applied to: SIPA (accepted, no funding), SIS, ESIA, SAIS, SFS, Fletcher
  9. Let's start the bidding. Anyone say Friday the 13th?
  10. Is this where Masters of Science in Foreign Service should set up shop while we wait, too?
  11. Got accepted to Columbia SIPA. It's the first of six grad admissions decisions I've received, so I'm really happy for the sake of my fragile ego in this process that the first was a "yes"! No word on funding, and there is no extra link to a funding package on my acceptance letter or on the application site. I will contact them before the week is out and see if there is any hope for last-minute funding, although I think other posters above me have done so and received a negative response.
  12. Tufts Fletcher School stuff: U.S. applicant here. I received a personalized email in mid-February from Fletcher saying they enjoyed reading about x, y, and z in my application. I was quite impressed they went to such a personal touch. I wrote a reply and got a nice reply back. No other news on admissions from them since then, but judging by their blog we will know very soon.
