I am wondering if anyone has any idea of the chance of moving off the waitlist for the 2 year at Laurier.
-
Got my rejection letter for Laurier. Kinda expected it though considering they are super competitive with experience! So it looks like Laurier decisions have all been sent out. I'm guessing no one has heard about being wait listed or rejected yet from u of t?
Sorry to hear that!
-
Hey Christina! That's awesome, getting the letter in the mail must really make you feel awesome.
Do you (or anyone else who got rejected / waitlisted to Laurier) mind letting me know what you see on the LORIS admissions portal page? Is it just the same as before (references) or does it link to a new page that mentions the rejection?
Thanks!
Hey magfish,
I was waitlisted and the admissions page still shows references. Someone posted yesterday (I believe) that it only changes once you get accepted.
-
Oh agreed. I applied last year and got rejected than I heard about the accelerated BSW programs so I applied for that. Definitely don't want to move away either. I feel like my options on schools are soo limited because of this!
Good luck with everything!
-
Yeah for sure. Have you thought of doing an accelerated BSW program?
No, I have not thought about that until I started reading about it on this forum. I did not realize there was such a program. The only issue is that I do not want to move away for school which limits where I can apply.
-
Oh for sure! Better than a rejection at least you know you are on the right track. Yeah it really is competitive!
Just going to work on making my application better for next year. I think around 40 people get put on the waitlist so if it even moves, it will still be really competitive.
-
So the waitlisting begins!! Thats good. I hope it works out and you get in.
Thanks AMetallo! Not looking forward to more waiting but am happy with being put on the waitlist. It seems like there are very competitive applicants this year.

I just received an email from Laurier. I have been waitlisted for the 2-year program (April 7th 11:10am)!
-
I haven't heard back yet from Laurier, but I just checked my LORIS account and it won't let me sign in anymore. It says the following:
If you are a student, please contact the Office of the Registrar at (519) 884-1970 for more information.
If you are an alumnus, please contact the Alumni & Development Office for more information.
If you are an employee, please contact Human Resources at hr@wlu.ca for more information.
I think you may have gone to the wrong LORIS site. There are two. One for students and one for applicants. Try this one and see if it lets you in.

I was accepted to Laurier (2year) and mine only changed after I received the email. Once in the acceptance email you get all the necessary information to log-in as well as your new email/password etc. So personally, I wouldn't think too much about LORIS because it doesn't tell you anything (unfortunately).
Thank you purplegrey! I don't think I am going to get an acceptance this year but there is still a little bit of hope
Congrats on your acceptance!!

Hey mish2,
My LORIS hasn't changed at all. It looks the same since I applied. Is it supposed to change? I assumed it only changed after you were notified through email that you got in.
Hey kjamieso4,
Mine has not changed either but I think I read in earlier posts (when advanced standings were hearing back) that some may have changed before they received an email. I would also assume that it would not change before email notification and hoping that it only changes when you hear through email. Small glimmer of hope still, lol

Anyone who has not heard back from Laurier yet, has your LORIS changed where the references are?
-
A big congratulations to everyone who got accepted today!!
-
I haven't recieved a rejection or acceptance from Laurier but I will be eagerly checking my email all day now! good luck everyone!!
Good luck to you too!!
-
I received an email this morning saying I got into the 2 year MSW at Laurier. After a long, hard decision - I'm going to decline the offer and go to U Windsor.if you were wait listed for Laurier - good luck!
Even though you are not accepting Laurier, congratulations!!
Congrats anyways about Laurier!
Does anyone else have an email yet? I don't have anything but I'm sure it'll take them a while to get to everyone.
I have not received an email but I am really not expecting one. I did not realize when I applied how tough the competition was for the program until I came across this forum.

Just under a week and maybe we will finally start hearing from Laurier!! Getting anxious now!!

MY ROSI JUST UODATED. Omg I literally can't breathe right now
Congratulations!!
-
Where did you find your application status? I didn't find anything in my Loris webiste
There is no application status on LORIS. It is only for checking to see if all your reference letters have been received and for changing your contact information.
-
Still wont let me login to LORIS ... whatever I guess I will just not try and wait for an email to come from them!
Im assuming they email the applicants .... ?
There are two LORIS sites. One for students and one for applicants that allows you to look at your references and change your information online. Maybe you are trying to log into the wrong site. The following is the one we are supposed to use:
https://telaris.wlu.ca/ssb_prod/bwskalog.P_DispLoginNon
When I received my confirmation email from Laurier stating that they received my application, it stated that decisions would be emailed.
Hope that helps.

I emailed Laurier late last week and informed them that link has not been working since Feb. Maybe they just looked into it and fixed it. Mine works now too.
Hoping to hear something soon about admissions!!
-
My understanding is that appears to have been an issue since February for a majority of people.
I have been having issues since around then too. I was wondering if anyone had contacted Laurier to find out why. What if someone actually had to change their contact information? Thankfully I do not. I am just getting very anxious now as we still have a couple of weeks before we hear anything. The more I read posts, the more I begin to doubt my credentials.
I am getting to the point that I just want to know either way so I can plan ahead.
-
Does anyone know why on LORIS when you click the online form that the page is not found?
-
Question- is anyone else here coming from a child and youth worker/child and youth care background?
I am coming from a child and youth background. Currently, I am employed in a treatment home for adolescent males and I work as an educational assistant with the school board.
