Hi everyone! I recently completed my first year of the U of T Epi program and thought I would reach out if anyone has any questions. I know I found it really helpful last year to talk to some upper year students when making acceptance decisions, so feel free to send me a message with any questions that you might have about the program Or about MPH/epi more generally!

I accidentally ignored a request to join the Facebook group while half asleep, so if you haven't been accepted then please try joining again

If you have been accepted to the MPH program (any specialization) at U of T for this fall, join this Facebook group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1409879339337950/ We can use this group to post about courses, practicums, anything public health related. Also feel free to post a bit about yourself so we can get to know each other before classes start

Planning on creating a Facebook group for everyone who will be at U of T for MPH in the fall! Turns out I can't create the group without knowing the name of at least one other member - so let me know if you'd like to join and I will set it up once I know at least one name

Hey guys! Kind of off topic, but I will be moving to Toronto for the first time in the fall and was wondering if anyone had any advice for house hunting. Ideally I'd like to find a reasonably priced place to share downtown with other U of T students. I won't know any other students before I move, so if anyone else is in the same situation and interested in rooming together, shoot me a message!

Hello! I have recently been accepted to the U of T MPH program for fall 2015, but am looking into deferring my offer for one year. Has anyone else done this in the past? Was it easy enough to do? Thanks!

Congratulations to everyone who has received acceptance over the past couple days! Can't wait to meet people in the fall!

Yes, my status on SGS did change to decision made. For anyone who was interested, here are my stats: - 3.88 GPA - 2 summers as a data analyst at Health Canada - 1 year as a research assistant in my school's health department - 2 years as a peer health educator in my school's health promotion department - 1 summer as a medical office assistant at a community health centre - various other volunteer positions with health-related organizations

I think most people who applied to U of T epi should still be receiving a letter in the mail. The letter of offer I received over email was dated for April 27th and appeared to be a printed letter that had been scanned - I'm guessing I got this because my school address recently expired (I moved back home for the summer). If you haven't heard back yet you should expect news any day now! If you don't get in I would be happy to share my stats

Congrats! I guess we will be classmates in the fall
-
Thanks! Yes, I was emailed. They referred to me specifically and attached an official letter of offer as a pdf.

Was just offered admission to U of T MPH in Epidemiology! Hopefully some others will be receiving good news today as well
-
It's driving me crazy! Hoping that they start to send out letters this week, but I guess it could still be awhile.

I also applied to U of T epi and am still hoping to hear back (it was my first choice). But I went ahead and accepted my offer at Queen's before the deadline just in case I do not get into U of T. I confirmed with Queen's that I didn't need to make a deposit so it should still be easy enough to change my mind, but other schools might not allow you to do that so I would check with them first!
-
I don't believe anyone has heard back from U of T epi yet. I know that some applicants to the other U of T MPH streams were notified sometime in March, but the last we heard epi applicants will not hear back until the end of April (at the earliest!)

I had "Incomplete Items Outstanding" on my U of S application for a while too. I contacted the school and they told me that this was there because I had not yet graduated from my undergrad (they didn't have an official transcript that said I had a degree). But this would not affect the review process because they would just look at marks from the transcript I had submitted. So if you are still finishing up your undergrad as well but have submitted everything else then you have nothing to worry about!
-
No worries, was just curious! Yes I also applied to U of T epi Hoping for good news soon!
-
Thank you for the update! Did they mention whether or not we would receive an email notification prior to the official letter in the mail? When I asked previously I was told that some MPH streams do this, but the grad office was not sure if epi was one of them.
-
Hey! You will not receive anything in the mail if you've been accepted to Queen's. Email Gerri to accept the offer
-
I received my acceptance to Queen's MPH a couple weeks ago and was asked to accept the offer by March 31st. I'm assuming they'll wait until then to send out another round of acceptance letters, so if you're still waiting to hear back maybe except news for the 31st or shortly thereafter I have a couple friends who are also still waiting!
-
Has anyone heard back from U of T for MPH Epi? I'm not expecting a response until mid April, but I know some other MPH streams have already heard back.

Hey everyone! I just discovered this forum. I have applied to the MPH programs at U of S, Queen's and U of T (Epi). So far I have been accepted to U of S and Queen's. U of T is my top choice so I'm hoping for good news! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted
