Hi! I paid my deposit on Mon and would love to get in contact with other people who are planning on attending Post in the fall! I haven't seen a Facebook group so I figured I'd write something here to try and find some other people. So excited!

Hi, did any of you decide to go to LIU Post or Adelphi? Would love to get a current student's opinion on these programs.

In all of your opinions, what is the best Long Island program? Right now I'm deciding between LIU Post, Hofstra and Adelphi. Also thinking about Columbia but not sure if their name is worth the money.

I heard that NYU recently lost its accreditation (not sure exactly when). They have it now I'm pretty sure but to lose it before review is pretty bad (this is what a friend who knew people trying to decide whether or not to go to NYU two years ago said). Otherwise I have heard that it puts more emphasis on research than clinicals. I've heard great things about Hofstra but they do place an emphasis on research as well.

atrochemoche and scisl006 thanks for all your advice!! Very helpful and will definitely try those websites. I lived with a host family in Chueca right off of Gran Via and about a ten minute walk from Sol. So jealous you live there I had the time of my life there!

Me too...really trying to figure out if the crazy amount of money I'd have to take out in loans if I went to one of these schools will be worth it!

I am very interested in bilingual speech pathology as well. I am fluent in Spanish thanks to a double major in Spanish and studying abroad in Madrid, but have found it very challenging to maintain fluency after returning to the US and graduating college. Even though I make an effort to continue to read and listen to music in Spanish it's really hard for me to find people to actually speak it with. I was accepted to Teachers College's bilingual program and was wondering if anyone knew good/bad things about it? Also if there are any suggestions on how to find ways to remain fluent/or if any one knows of any language interchange/spanish speaking groups that get together in the NYC area that would be great!
