  1. Oh really! Thats amazing! I'll have to try and get in touch with them. Thank you!
  2. Congrats on your acceptance into the advance standing! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your one year BSW from? It looks like I'll be heading to Lakehead for a one year BSW and am worried because I assume that I will be applying for advanced standing MSW in October 2015 (I don't know if you can apply to regular standing 2-year MSW if your do a BSW?) and I don't start my practicum until January 2016, which is after you submit your applications to pretty much all the programs. It seems like it would be difficult (if not more difficult) to get accepted into a advanced standing MSW after competing a one-year BSW (especially if I don't start the practicum until after I submit the application – In January 2016). If you don't mind me asking, what were your experiences like?
  3. I definitely am on to my plan b too! I'll be attending Lakehead University for the 1Yr HBSW this July 2015! But, until I get that letter in my hand from U of T, imma stay hopeful! Congratulations to all of you who have been accepted & Good Luck to those still playing the waiting game!
  4. Hey Everyone! I emailed Angela @ U of T the other day asking if they are still sending out letters of admission, or if they are done, and now sending out acceptance and are now sending out rejections and waitlist. She replied back with the generic response that she has been sending everyone. So, maybe there is still hope that they are sending out acceptances if we have until the "mid-April". Hello, This year, admission offer letters for the two-year MSW Program will be sent out from mid-March to mid-April. As decisions are mailed out, your status on the On-line application will be changed to Decision Made. By mid-April all MSW decisions will be sent out. Due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to respond to messages regarding when a decision will be made on an application. We ask for your continued patience. Best regards, Angela Umbrello
  5. I checked out last years forum on grad cafe, and all the waitlists/rejection letters were all received by/around April 6th. I hate to admit this but everyone was right when they said that admission process has likely ended and that they are probably preparing the waitlist/rejection letter now. It's been fun
  6. Welcome to the group Lorri! And yes, this process has been exhausting and very stressful. I am just waiting to hear from U of T, and if I don't get in, i'll be heading to my plan B (a post-degree BSW) I am optimistic that this week (by Friday) they will send out the last of their acceptances, with rejection/waitlists as well.
  7. I got the generic rejection letter in the mail from WLU. I also finally got my package from Lakehead University in the mail! As for U of T, still nothing. No waitlist. No rejection. No acceptance. I hope at this point, the "the news is good news" law in still in effect. I also emailed Angela yesterday asking if the admission process is still ongoing or if they sent out all the letters. I didn't hear anything back yet. Will keep all you hopeful souls informed!
  8. I have looked through the past posts on this form and on average about 5 people have bee accepted to U of T each day they've sent out admissions (March 13, March 24, and April 1) and, all those dates are not consistent with a certain day of the week! So there is literally no predicting what day they send out admissions Good news is, for those hopeful souls out there like me, the ROSI site seems to update between 1:00pm-5:00pm if your from the atlantic/east coast. Remaining hopefully as this week approaches us!
  9. Yes! I was logging in to the wrong website! Thanks
  10. I haven't heard back yet from Laurier, but I just checked my LORIS account and it won't let me sign in anymore. It says the following: You are not authorized to use the Web Information Systems! If you are a student, please contact the Office of the Registrar at (519) 884-1970 for more information. If you are an alumnus, please contact the Alumni & Development Office for more information. If you are an employee, please contact Human Resources at hr@wlu.ca for more information.
  11. Hello Beareisland, I am 100% convinced that there are still letter/notices to go out! When I looked at previous years (via the research tab in grad cafe), people weren still being accepted up until the following dates/years for U of T (2-Yr-MSW): 2010: Until April 11 2011: Until April 20 2012: Until Apri 13 2013: Until Apri 19 2014: Until April 15 When I log into the ""http://rosi.utoronto.ca/" website will change to invited! Overall, a lot of people have been accepted on this forum, but they accept 140 people for 2-year standing @ U of T! If I were to guess, I would say the last acceptance will be done by this weekend or early next week. Quote on quote, Angela (from admission) says that all admission decisions are done by the middle of April. So, until that date, I will be waiting! Also, if anyone ends up getting wait-listed, the first round of acceptance off of the waitlist (according to grad cafe) seem to go out the end of May (around the 25th)! So, remain hopeful!
  12. To the universities I am hoping to get in to, I am not waitlisted but I haven't been rejected either. Im just worried because I am working FT this summer as a RA and I have a PT social service volunteer position that I will be working all summer long, and if I were to leave the middle of June, it would ruin all the plans I have in motion. So, I am trying to work out the scenarios in the mean time to prepare if I end up being waitlisted for an MSW. I hope they send out more acceptances this week! I mean, its only April 4th so they should, right. Thanks for all the feedback!
  13. You can go to this link and click the "Submit Your Results" is red at the top: http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ Or, you can try this link, it may take you direct to submitting your results: http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/post.php
  14. Hello everyone! For those of you who have been accepted, rejected, wait listed, etc. at U of T (or any other universities), would you be able to "Results Search" and "Submit Grad School Admission Results" so, for those who haven't heard anything yet from schools, will be able to search the results and gage how many have been accepted/waitlisted/rejected thus far in the waiting game? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for replying! You make a valid point, and it would for sure drive me crazy if I were to be in the situation. It would also be incredibly heart break if for some reason I was accepted last minute (this is mainly because (1) I reached out a faculty member at U of T because I really want work with her and do a combined PHD in SW and (2) because my life partner is going into social work as well and it would be hard to give up on the chance of getting into the same MSW). Thanks for your advice! You gave me lots to think about
  16. Wow! Thank you so much for all this wonderful information! You really have me lots to think about! And, yes, I am finding it difficult to find information about the program, so this is beyond help and very appreciated! I just have one last question. When you finished the course in the summer, was there much of a waiting time between then and when courses started in the fall? Thanks again for everything!
  17. I am also worried of what I would do if I go ahead and go to lake head for the HBSW and then get accepted into a MSW program last minute! If I were accepted last minute into a MSW, it makes complete sense to go to the MSW program, but at the same time it would be such a complicated process to leave lakehead because (1) I will be getting a full student loan for lakehead and (2) I live 20+ hours away from lake head. If anyone has experience this (went to lakehead, and then left because they were accepted into a MSW before september), please fill me in on your experiences and everything you did! Advice is needed!
  18. Hello Cathy, I've been accepted into the 1-year HBSW at Lakehead Orillia campus! I am hoping I still either get into Laurier or U of T, but if not, Lakehead is my back up plan! Whats the program like now that it's coming close to the end, and were many people able to finish it in under a year? Also, if you live on residence, can you talk about you experiences, what residence you would recommend, and your experiences with the food/meal plan? Lastly, did you mind starting the academic year in July? --It terrified me because if I am put on a waiting list for an MSW, I wouldn't be able to "wait around" if lake head starts in July. Would love to hear anything you have to say about your experiences overall and the program! Thanks!
  19. Seeing that (1) U of T said that the admission process will be done by Mid April and (2) they have done three waves of admission already, does it seem plausible that they would still have more admission to go out (seeing it is only April 1st) ? Thoughts?
  20. It is 1:00am here and every night I lay awake thinking about getting into my dream school @ U of T. Please say, I am not the only one? It's April 1st now and there is only 15 days between us and the deadline for when U of T sends out letters of admission/rejection/waitlist ! I am always too excited, which could be bad or good!
  21. I am assuming this forum is not filled with many people from the atlantic east coast (or maritimes). But...has anyone here applied to Maine University for a BSW? Or, has gone to Maine University for a BSW? I am graduating this year with an Honours Psychology 4Yr BA, and if I don't get accepted into a MSW anywheres, I will be going into Maine's BSW program with the hope that I can get all my credits transferred (so it will only take me a year or two)? Did anyone here ever encounter this experience @ Maine University? Thanks!
  22. I just discovered this is a thing. You can search a graduate school and the program and it gives you all the results in terms of when someone got accepted! It is much more efficient http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=university+of+toronto+social+work&t=a&o=&pp=25
