  1. Generally people don't know what Bioengineering is, which is understandable as it's a pretty new field, comparatively. So they ask. What bothers me is that I can never get more than 10 words into an explanation without their eyes glazing over. This makes me sad, because if they would listen for two seconds they would realize that this field affects their lives. Person: What are you studying? Me: Biomedical engineering. Person: What is that? Me. Well, there are actually many different things that bioengineers do, including medical devices, tissue engineering, drug deliv- Person. Right. *change the subject*
  2. When I went, they asked in an email beforehand whom I wanted to meet. Then they set up the schedule for me, with some additional people added in. They should email you a schedule a few days before you go.
  3. So, I had a great interview with a prof a few weeks ago, sent some follow-up emails, etc., and just got a generous offer from the school. However, I still have other offers that I am checking out. I feel like the right thing to do is email the prof and thank him for recommending me/ tell him how excited I am about the offer, but then what do I say? It seems less than enthusiastic to say "I'm excited to come work for you...maybe." Is it better just to wait to contact him until I am sure? Thanks guys!
  4. I keep having this dream where I can see my inbox and there's an email from my top choice...but I can't open it! What makes it all the worse is that I sort of know that it's not real but I still really want to see that 'Congratulations.' I hope this is not a sign I am starting to crack, haha. Anyone else's subconscious been acting up lately?
  5. Was on an interview weekend at Michigan this past weekend and really liked it. Am waiting to hear about an offer but have no idea how long it will take them. Anyone else? Haven't seen Umich in anyone's sig...
