  1. I agree that it's very strange how receiving a CGS-m can either decrease or cause no effect on your funding. In my first year of my master's program I received two small scholarships ($5000 and $6000) and was still allowed to TA. So I received $11,000 +$1300 a month. This comes out to about $21,400 total. Now that I have the CGS-m, I will only receive $17,500. There is no top-up and I will not be allowed to TA. I go to York.
  2. Hi everyone, I am a first year master's student living in Toronto. I do epidemiological research. I have been looking for a research assistant job, and, in addition to applying online have been 'networking' (or I think i have been networking) by asking people like my research supervisor, people at the hospital I volunteer at and graduate students in my lab for help. Unfortunately, I always get replies such as 'you need to keep applying online' and 'make sure you put your research on your resume'. These comments are not helpful. Am I not networking correctly? Thank you
  3. I am currently a first year master's student and received the CGS-M this year. Does anyone know what will happen If I accept for September 2015 and I graduate in June 2016? Will I still get the full amount even though it is not a full year? Thank you
