  1. Hey ^_^ I just saw your signature and wanted to say congrats again!!!

  2. I'm glad that your trips to NYU and BU were so helpful, and congrats on the decision to attend BU! It sounds like it's a great fit for you
  3. Congratulations Kobe!!!! What great news
  4. How did your NYU and BU visits go?
  5. Haven't made a decision yet, but I'm definitely feeling the pressure as the deadlines for NYU and BU are coming up soon. I'll be visiting UNC this weekend and I'm hoping the trip will make the process of deciding a little easier....or maybe it'll be worse, lol. Are you interested in the clinical track at BU?
  6. Same here! It was a pleasant surprise
  7. It would be great to hear something by the end of the month I called yesterday and was told that a decision had been made, but the woman I spoke with couldn't tell me what the decision was. Today I emailed the person who could tell me the decision, and he said that my app is still being reviewed and that I would know a decision on/around April 30th. Not liking the runaround situation... By the way, Agape, I applied for Regular Standing at UNC
  8. Congrats on the recent acceptances and final decisions! What an exciting time! I can't wait to make that ultimate choice
  9. Has anyone heard anything about BU's method of notifying applicants of a decision?
  10. I received an email from BU in early Feb. saying that I would know of a decision in 4-6 weeks, so I'm hoping to hear something by next week *crosses fingers*. The date changing situation is definitely a bit weird, and its really unfortunate that your application was affected by system glitches so early on in the application season, zachidacki .
  11. I applied to the 2 year program, but it sounds like you should be finding out pretty soon I hope its good news all around!
  12. Congrats on the recent acceptances!!! I'm glad the Columbia wait is over for most of you!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a lil while longer as I continue to wait for a decision, and I totally know where you're coming from, Morad123. All of the components of my application were submitted by the Jan. 15th deadline, but it wasn't until Feb. that it was noted as complete =/
  13. Thanks! I wish they'd included info about funding, hehe. The letter came from the Grad School and it said that decisions about financial aid are made in a separate process and sent directly from the program providing the funding.
  14. I just got an acceptance letter from UNC today
  15. I agree, this whole waiting thing needs to be over Checking out this forum makes me feel like I'm somewhat in control of things, lol. Btw TerriM (and if you don't mind my asking), since you were accepted back in the fall, were you given a definitive date to accept/decline your offer or did you request more time to make a final decision about Columbia?
  16. Thanks for the congrats! My application for NYU was complete as of Jan. 15th and my decision letter was available on ApplyYourself on Feb.19th (I didn't get an email or postal mail indicating that a decision had been made). I logged on last night, not expecting to see anything new, and saw an update beneath the Submission Status saying that my decision letter was available for me to view. Once I scrolled to the bottom of the page there was a link to the actual letter.
  17. Thanks TerriM! And congrats/welcome, robin02! NYU is definitely at the top of my list given their clinical focus, but I'll admit I've been worrying about the loans I'd have to take out to attend the schools where in-state tuition isn't an option for me. I grew up in upstate New York and would looove to be in the Northeast again....but then my parents chime in about how I should attend the school where I'll come out with the least amount of debt...and they make a good point...but I'm really tempted to go along with annie a's suggestion and go where I'll be the happiest in terms of the program and location
  18. Just found out I've been accepted to the MSW program at NYU
  19. Congratulations nessadub and cupojoe!
  20. This is a really good question and I'm finding myself wavering between two main thoughts: I can't help thinking that they do take the time to read each statement because of the significance of having relevant experience, and because there are so many factors that can affect GPA - both of which can be explained in a personal statement. At the same time, if someone applies with a really, really low GPA (like, a 1.something or low 2) that probably won't help in conveying their ability to successfully complete graduate level work (where its likely you'd have to maintain at least a B average). So I guess I'm kind of undecided on this matter, lol. I'd be interested to see what other people think about this, too And congrats to Fierceflawless and MelMcC on your acceptances!
  21. Hey everyone! Congrats to those of you who have received admission offers already! Makes me wish I'd turned in my apps earlier I applied to 5 programs, although my original plan was to apply to 6. Once things got going with the whole application process, I found myself feeling more and more comfortable with stopping after 5, hehehe. Good luck to everyone and I hope we all hear good news in the coming weeks! Definitely don't lose hope cuz it ain't over til it's over!
