I can speak to University of Georgia's policies on assistantship, funding etc, since I am in a PhD program within the department you are applying to. If you are not offered an assistantship upon acceptance, there is a list of departmental assistantship opportunities where you would apply for positions you are interested in after you get accepted. In the past, and this year EVERYONE has been funded, however there will typically tell you it's not GUARANTEED. Schools usually wouldn't keep you in the dark about that, so just do great on your interviews so they will be happy to offer something to you! Good luck, and hope you like UGA!
