Ha! Well, Harvard rejected me, so my decision was a bit easier than yours.
You're in the Art History department? Prof. Bahrani is basically the reason I'm going to Columbia (I'm kind of obsessed with the politics around the preservation of Middle Eastern archaeological sites).
Have fun deciding-- that's a great problem to have.
I got my Harvard rejection today, too... funny, I got a form letter from Harvard (not a peep from my PAs, who seemed really enthusiastic in the fall)... and I got into Columbia with full funding. Admissions really is such a crapshoot.
It was a mass email from the DGS. I did miss three calls from an unlisted number while in class today... I'm guessing they're from my PA (and I really wish he'd left a voicemail with a number to call him back! :-) ).
If only two of us reported acceptances on the board today, I'm guessing they'll probably send out some more tomorrow... but that's just wild speculation on my part.
Good luck!
Hi! I'm one of the people who posted an acceptance (the Ancient History one).
I have absolutely no inside info, but they sent me an email around 1:30 PM saying that they were excited to offer me admission and outlining the financial support. Maybe they're just trickling out by department?
Columbia didn't interview this year, right? My application got referred to the History department from Art History, so I'm sort of lost (even though I strangely want to go to Columbia even more now!)
Congrats to everyone who's heard good news so far!
Just got my acceptance letter, with 2/3 of tuition waived! I'm not sure I'll go even if my other applications are all rejected, but it's still great to know that I have at least one acceptance. Anyone else considering the program? Going to the welcome weekend in April?
Does anyone have any idea when we can expect to hear from Columbia? It looks like they got their decisions out really late last year... I might have a heart attack if I have to wait until mid-March!
