Thanks!
Yes, Cuny is pretty new, I think it only opened in 2006 and it already has a pretty good reputation. Check out the website if you're interested:

I think between NYU and CUNY, I'm leaning towards CUNY because of price, and a greater choice of courses and a larger faculty. The program I applied to at NYU is I think a little less structured and more project based and seemed to have slightly fewer course offerings, and I think CUNY would provide a more systematic instruction in multimedia.
I'm not sure yet if I'm visiting, my mother has been encouraging me to, although I've actually already visited both briefly. CUNY had a summer academy for prospective students last summer over a few days that I participated in and I also went to an info session at Columbia last summer, that was pretty brief, although I'd also been on the Columbia campus before. One consideration is actually being on campus with accepted students and getting more of an impression of the student body. On the other hand, for Columbia, I know two people from my undergrad who I could also talk to about their experience. Plus both open houses happen to fall during a busy time in my semester and I'd have to figure out the logistics......still contemplating whether I'll go...
